Jen’s Jots I hope that everyone enjoyed some time off during the past month. I know that I was able to slow down and take time to enjoy my family during the holidays. Now it is time to start the new year at full pace. It looks like we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel with our enrollment system. Hopefully we will get a full list to Club Managers before the end of the month. I am also excited to announce that our first 4-H workstation is now in place. We are working on the policy for its use so look for more details to emerge. The first quarter of our year has been a blast. I am very excited to see what we can do with the remainder of the time. I encourage all the clubs to send their delegates to the PLA and Council meetings at the first of every month – and anyone else is welcome to join us as we map out the plan for our 4-H journey. Also, any member with a horse project is welcome to join us on the second Monday of the month for the 4-H Horse Committee meetings and shape the future of that program. We have many avenues for participate within the Denton County 4-H program. Our membership grew slightly last year and I hope to see the same growth by the end of this year. District IV 4-H Council has proposed a great plan “Everyone bring one.” Just imagine how big our program would be if every 4-H member brought one friend?! One final reminder – the “100 for 100” fundraising campaign is in effect. This fundraiser will net the program close to $10,000 if we reach the minimum goal of 100. I have attached the forms for your convenience. Again – we are just asking for one donor per member – it may see small, but even if everyone only got a $25 donation that would still be $7,500! Dr. Martha Couch Challenges 4-H Members

During the 2006 State 4-H Roundup opening assembly Dr. Martha Couch, Associate Director for 4-H and Youth, offered four challenges to the 4-H members of Texas.

1. All 4-Hers who are of age – REGISTER TO VOTE 2. All 4-Hers who are of age – VOTE! 3. GOOGLE 4-H 4. WALK ACROSS TEXAS
