Good records support billing practices and demonstrate your knowledge of :– your patient, – the practice of dentistry and – the laws and regulations
governing that practice.

Dentistry means the evaluation, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment, through surgical, non-surgical or related procedures, of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity and the maxillofacial, adjacent and associated structures and their impact on the human body.

Recordkeeping Requirements: the minimum standard
1. Patient’s name and date of treatment
2. Updated health history3. Diagnosis and treatment
