Curricular Activities

Zoological Study Tour:

Zoological study tour is organised yearly for M.Sc. students to gain field

experience of specimen collection, curation, identification and preservation. It

helps to understand different ecosystems and biodiversity.

Field visit:

Regular filed visit are organised as part of practical for paper based on:

Animals systematic and Biology of Non-chordates,

Basic and Applied Entomology Parasitology and Vector Biology Biodiversity and Wildlife management

The Department has hosted webinars to enhance the knowledge of study in

areas such as:

Recent Trends and Innovations in Life Sciences 29th September, 2016.

Invited talk on “Biostatistics and Its Application in Biological Science” held on

7th November, 2019.

One day live Webinar Workshop on “Career Opportunities in Zoology” and

“Preparations for KSET and CSIR-NET” was conducted on 2nd June, 2020.

Distinguished online lecture on “Pollinating Insects and their Conservation”

was conducted on 25th June, 2020.

Live interactive Webinar on “Social behaviour of Bats” was conducted on 23

June, 2021.

Live interactive Webinar on “Life of Butterflies” was conducted on 27 June,

2021.

Live interactive Webinar on “Aquaculture and its Entrepreneurship” was

conducted on 2nd July, 2021.

Parent- teachers meeting

Regularly Parent-Teacher’s meetings are organised to understand

student’s problems if any and students are helped to overcome them.

Student counselling

Regular students counselling is undertaken regarding their difficulty in

learning process, health issues etc. and proper counselling is done by

faculty members.

Museum:

The Departmental museum is has been established and up gradation of

the same is done after every Zoological study tour.

Departmental library

Departmental library was established in 2019 and currently 40+ books are

made available for students, which is accessed by the students regularly.

Science Day Celebration Science was celebrated on 27th February 2020-21. Events like Awareness quotes/slogans, Drawing, Pencil sketch, Rangoli etc were conducted for

Sports Day Celebration Sports day was celebrated on 26th February 2020-21. Sports events

conducted were Carom, Chess etc.

Women’s Day Celebration

Women’s day was celebration on 2nd March 2020-21. Rangoli, Hairstyle and

Mehandi competitions were held for girl students.
