The World Health Organization (WHO) declared last decade as the Decade for the reduction of mortality due to natural disasters. However, when it comes to disasters and emergencies, there is still the need to deal with many unforeseen circumstances.
The WHO define a disaster as: a serious disruption of the functioning of a community or a society causing widespread human, material, economic or environmental losses that exceed the ability of the affected community or society to cope using its own resources. Any occurrence that causes damage, ecological disruption, loss of human life or deterioration of health and health services on a scale sufficient to warrant an extraordinary response from outside the affected community or area.
For these reasons H@H conceived and developed the eRescue device – a complete medical device that can be used in hostile environments to asses and monitor critical patients, designed to be used mainly in field hospitals and disaster zones.
The H@H eRescue is an all in one field based Intensive Care Unit that allows you to intervene immediately in the field, using a modular mobile intensive care unit equipped with the best technological equipment.
Thanks to its unique characteristics, this device can play an essential role in medicine for disasters.
Compact in size and sturdy in its construction (lightweight, fireproof materials, easy to transport) make H@H eRescue an extraordinary emergency device.
The easy to use interface allows the caregiver to provide effective first aid quickly, directly from the field.
The eRescue is composed of
• Oxygen Concentrator, providing up to 5 l/min (Oxygen)
• Mucus suction (intracavitary vacuum therapy)
• Simultaneous and continual vital sign monitoring (ECG, HR, NIBP, SpO2, FR,TEMP1, TEMP2, EtCO2), both locally and remotely
• Lung ventilator fan – Volumetric for intensive care
• smartMEWS ® automatic severity scoring system: MEWS, Index Seagull, GCS, SOFA score
• Alerts for all users
• Volumetric infusion pumps and syringe (*)
• Computerized Medical Chart (*)
• Field resuscitation Custom Kit (Fibre optic video laryngoscope, disposable masks, laryngeal entotracheali tubes, chest drains, central venous catheters, peripheral plasma expander and electrolyte solutions)
• Portable Ultrasound for central venous access (*)
• POCT for laboratory tests and Portable blood gases (up to 60 tests in 60 seconds) (*)
• Video calls and second opinion
• ADSL Router, 3G, Satellite
(*) Optional devices
H@H eRescueThe eRescue device is easily integrated, simple and provides fast and reliable diagnosis for treatment by providing timely indications on the evolution of the physiological parameters of a patient. Monitoring of the physiological parameters are available locally – directly on an Operating Station (a monitoring station where the healthcare professional can manage multiple patients simultaneously) – and remotely (using a web -based interface).
The device is equipped with a video calling system which allows for direct communication between the patient, the operator and anyone that can intervene on the spot, with the Service Centre itself. In this way, as well as aiding directly “in the field”, it will provide continuous and direct contact between the patient and the doctor. In case of necessity, positioning multiple mobile units allows to create a field based intensive care unit in a short period of time – perfectly efficient and pre configured for the connection between the various devices and the Operating Station.
