To provide robust and scalable Campus LAN solution at Medical Colleges & WiFi Connectivity in the Hostels & in Swasthya Bhawan Complex, the Head Quarter of the Health & Family Welfare Department of the state of West Bengal. Also to provide different services through this WI-FI to both internal users and general public visiting the campus.

D-Link provided the complete WiFi & Campus LAN solution with 10G Fiber optic based cabling backbone infrastructure that connected multiple buildings. It includes Wireless Controller, Indoor & Outdoor Access Points, 10G SFP switches & Structured cabling.

With core-distribution architecture , the layer 3 andlayer 2 Managed switches were deployed . D-Link'sDXS-3400 Layer 3 Stackable 10 GbE ManagedSwitches are new, compact, high-performanceswitches that feature wire-speed 10-GigabitEthernet switching, routing, and ultra-low latencyideal for core switch. The DXS-3400 switch providestwo AC/DC hot-swappable power modules for 1+1redundancy and load sharing , as well as datacenter bridging to provide “lossless ethernet”transmission quality.

The DGS-3130 switch is stackable ManagedSwitches designed to connect end-users in a secureenterprise network. With 6KV surge protection oneach port, and with external redundant powersupply switch is ideal for the access switchconfiguration. Indoor & Outdoor Wireless AccessPoints are connected through this switch. Hardwarecontroller DWC-F2000 was deployed to providecentralized configuration and management.

The similar configuration was deployed in all hostelsas well of the medical colleges

The Health & Family Welfare Department of the West Bengal State Government has been vested with the responsibility of maintaining and developing the health care system in the state of West Bengal. Public health, sanitation and hospitals are the exclusive responsibilities of the State. State provides financial and managerial support for the basic health care support and infrastructural facilities at the rural level, while the State level super specialty Medical Colleges & Hospitals predominantly provides the ambulatory care services. The Head Quarter of the Health & Family Welfare Department is situated in the Swasthya Bhawan Complex in Saltlake Kolkata.

The state of West Bengal has 12nos. of Medical Colleges & Hospitals including Kolkata Medical College & Hospital & NRS Medical College & Hospital.
