Course Description: This full day CME conference hosted by the UC Irvine Department of Dermatology aims to educate primary care providers at UC Irvine and in the surrounding communities as to some of the more common dermatoses they are likely to encounter in their practices, how to treat them and which patients might be better referred to a dermatologist for specialist treatment.

Attendees will be taught by our outstanding faculty on a diverse range of topics including acne, psoriasis, eczema, blistering diseases, skin infections, benign and malignant skin tumors, and aesthetic issues. This course will empower those present to more easily diagnose and treat their patients in the primary care setting, and is likely to reduce the need for specialist referrals for common dermatologic conditions.

Target Audience:Healthcare providers working in the field of primary care.

Learning Objective: At the conclusion of the activity, the participant should be able to recognize and manage uncomplicated skin diseases encountered in their clinical practice.

Accreditation StatementThe University of California, Irvine School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Designation StatementThe University of California, Irvine School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
