Exploring the vast parks and public lands of the USA is a unique experience. Be it a weekend of camping with the family at a local park or navigating your way through the backcountry for days at a time, EUREKA! has been outfi tting tent campers for over 100 years.

Our 2014 development efforts were multifaceted: bring a new Adventure Basecamp Collection to market, update the venerable Sunrise Series of family tents, complete our Midori Series of backpacking tents with the addition of the Midori Solo, apply feedback from users on improving the Assault Outfi tter 4, and leverage our expertise in military tents to commercialize our new Tactical Tent Series.

The new 2 model Taron Basecamp Series is the foundation of the Adventure Basecamp Collection. The 4 & 6 person models inherited their DNA from our successful Taron backpacking tents, and then we utilized materials, incorporated design elements, & added features valued by the adrenaline sports done-in-a-day enduser.

While developing the Taron Basecamp models, the team hit upon the idea of better utilizing the light output of LED lanterns hung at the tent’s peak. Currently most light from the lantern is projected upwards and wasted. Thus the product concept of the E!luminate System was born. Let’s refl ect the lantern’s light back towards the fl oor where it is most needed! The E!luminate System increases fl oor level lighting from LED lanterns up to 3 fold, resulting in an elegant, yet simple & effective solution to brighten the nighttime camping experience.

The Sunrise Series is updated to refl ect the needs of the recreational camping enthusiast valuing ease of set-up in a durable, feature-rich tent for frequent family campouts. We added features such as Cross-Flow venting, the new E!luminate System, and the E! Media Center. With the E! Media Center in place, campers can watch video on notepads & other small electronics from the comfort of the sleeping bag. The Center’s clear center sleeve holds a notepad & is touch-screen friendly.

The Midori Solo completes the Midori Series of side entry aluminum frame backpacking tents. By executing the V3 Enhanced Tent System in this model, we achieved a solo tent with remarkable backcountry livability.

By incorporating feedback from outfi tters & educational groups, we made signifi cant changes to the Assault Outfi tter 4 to increase its durability, functionality, & comfort during long-term use in the fi eld.

We applied our experience in crafting structural and sleeping shelters for military applications to develop descendants of the TCOP and Combat tent for paramilitary use, the Down Range Series. These desert sand colored tents utilize nylon fl oors and polyester ripstop fl ys, both with high hydrostatic coatings, for durability. The Solo’s FOB (Forward Operating Base) vestibule fl oor, and the use of Snivel Locks on both models’ vestibules aid in fi eld utility.

For 2014, Eureka! introduces the new Singlis Ultralight. The Singlis UL utilizes lightweight fabrics and TPU fi lms for a ~40% weight savings compared to the current Singlis ST model. Weighing in at a mere 15oz, the Singlis UL’s combination of a 20D polyester micro ripstop top fabric and a 75D polyester bottom fabric result in a ultra-light, yet durable, mattress for backpackers. The integrated pump allows for quick, convenient infl ation.

The all-purpose Singlis ST models remain the foundation of the Eureka! sleeping pad line. The ST models feature a Soft-Touch, brushed top fabric for next to skin comfort while the rugged 150D polyester oxford bottom fabric protects against ground hazards. The combination of comfort, durability, and value make the Singlis ST a solid performer.

The pinnacle of sleeping pad comfort and technology are Eureka!’s Dualis ST models. The patent pending dual chamber technology features customizable support and warmth for the ultimate in home mattress like comfort. Dual chamber technology integrates the best attributes of both a Singlis air tube mattress with a traditional self-infl ating foam pad, to create a hybrid mattress with unrivaled comfort and versatility. Eureka! Sleeping Pads

Eureka! is no stranger to backpacks. During our hundred year history, we have designed and built backpacks in our facility in upstate New York. Our focused line of backpacks incorporates features valued by the dedicated Eureka! consumer: the family camper, backpacker, hunter, fi sherman, scout, and general outdoors-person. We added features which enhance performance and versatility for multiple outdoor activities. For long-lasting enjoyment, we specifi ed durable materials and construction methods. End user safety is enhanced by selectively using, by model, refl ective logos, bungee, webbing, piping, an orange hi-visibility raincover with refl ective graphics, and by incorporating a safety whistle into the sternum strap buckle.

Eureka!’s camp furniture features quality, durable designs that enrich the outdoor experience. Unique features like extended seatbacks, side tables, adjustable leveling feet, and padded armrests provide simple solutions to common campsite comfort and convenience issues. For 2014 Eureka! is launching new designs in each our of furniture categories.

The popular Curvy Chair now includes a convenient side-mounted tray. The new Curvy Chair with Side Table design features over 100sq inches of useful storage solutions like a large cup holder and recessed plate area, as well as unique utensil holsters. The side table mounts securely to the chair frame, yet is easily removable for compact storage and transport.

The perfect place to crash after a long day, the new Recliner Chair is the ultimate in campsite comfort with a luxurious 20 degrees of recline and 3 comfortable positions. Side pocketing, padded armrests, and a full-height seatback round out this comfortable package.

Eureka! Camp Furniture

Lighting is an integral part of the nighttime campsite, and for 2014, Eureka! continues our collection of portable LED lighting. Our lighting collection is comprised of versatile, multi-functional, camping-specifi c LED lanterns and fl ashlights. They are compact, made of durable materials, and are easy to use.

Unique to the color-updated Warrior 230 lantern is an infrared remote, making for easy operation of the lantern especially if it is hanging in a tent or on a pole. Adding further value, the remote performs double-duty as a small LED fl ashlight. The compact Warrior 230 runs on 3 D-size batteries, producing 230 lumens for 50 hours when on high; enough run time for a several day trip without having to be concerned about battery life.

Versatile, the Magic 125 Lantern/Flashlight is an area lantern which transforms to a powerful directional fl ashlight by rotating its top-mounted LED housing.

The hand-sized Glide 115 Lantern/Flashlight quickly converts from a fl ashlight to a lantern by sliding its telescopic housing to reveal its LED.

Few things in life are more enjoyable than good camp cuisine; make meal time easy with the new Cook Table. The convenient, counter-height design and adjustable leveling foot make meal prep easier. The ample storage cabinet underneath allows for a fully stocked kitchen within arm’s reach.

Perfect for situations where weight & space is limited, but comforts of home are desired, the new Compact Cot meets the need. Sturdy and big enough for larger campers, the assembled cot measures 79"L x 31"W and packs down to a mere 40"L x 8.5"W when collapsed.

Year after year, the Eureka sleeping bag line continues to evolve and meet the changing needs of our loyal customers. However, our driving principles remain the same: provide a warm and comfortable night’s sleep that enhances the outdoor experience. For 2014, our best gets even better!

This season brings a major update to Eureka’s Performance Mummy Series. The comprehensive redesign includes new fabrics, features, and enhancements to Eureka!’s proprietary Rteq insulation. Eureka!’s Rteq premium synthetic insulation has been reformulated to deliver better thermal performance across a broader range of conditions, allowing for the all-new Star Valley 45°F, the ultimate light-weight, warm weather sleeping bag.

Along with the major redesign, the Performance Mummy Series will also feature the EN Standard 13537 temperature rating system. Since its initial introduction in 2002, the EN Standard has quickly become the defi nitive guide for easily and accurately marketing sleeping bag thermal performance characteristics. Finally, following up on last year’s introduction of the popular Cypress and Azalea JR mummy bags, 2014 brings the all-new 30°F rated Balsam and Camellia JR rectangular models. These cozy, polyester lined bags feature Eureka’s ThermaShield synthetic insulation and have plenty of wiggle room for teens and shorter adults up to 5ft 6in tall.

EN Explained:The EN Standard 13537 temperature rating system incorporates years of scientifi c physiology, thermal dynamics, and real world camping experience to produce an accurate, international standard of sleeping bag thermal performance. Numerous factors, including gender, metabolism, hydration, and clothing all contribute to a user’s ability to maintain warmth. The EN Standard temperature rating system considers all of these factors, and thus labels each sleeping bag with a specifi c temperature range that includes 3 distinct temperature ratings:

Comfort Rating: temperature at which a standard adult female can experience a comfortable night’s sleep

Limit Rating: lowest temperature at which a standard adult male can experience a comfortable night’s sleep

Extreme Rating: survival temperature rating for the standard adult female

These 3 ratings are clearly labeled on the EN Standard temperature rating scale so that individual consumers can evaluate the temperature data and purchase the proper bag for their specifi c use.

V3 Enhanced Tent System: VOLUME – VENTING – VERSATILITY

A series of individual features which create a system that enhances a tent’s utility and

comfort in the backcountry. This synergistic system is called the V3 Enhanced Tent System.

There are three primary design components to the V3 Enhanced Tent System: the vertical strut vestibule pole, vectored fl y-to-tent body pullouts, and hooded fl y vents. Each design feature offers several individual performance benefi ts, but when incorporated into a single tent, a synergistic effect is observed.

V3 Feature 1: Vertical Strut Vestibule Pole Benefi tsThe vertical strut vestibule pole creates a unique and recognizable aesthetic in the tent’s fl y. While the strut pole increases the vestibule’s volume by about 6%, the amount of useable square footage in the vestibule is notable because

the fl y is supported about 10 inches above the ground and then abruptly drops to ground level. This increase in fl y ceiling height permits equipment to be stored all the way out towards the fl y’s edge, leaving more room for the backpacker to enter/exit the tent, or use the available space in inclement weather. For ease of use, the short 12 inch anodized aluminum pole is permanently affi xed into place so it cannot be lost. Also, by creating more vestibule volume and fl oor space, overall tent ventilation is enhanced.

V3 Feature 2: Vectored Fly-to-Tent Body Pullouts Benefi tsWhile it is commonplace for primary guyouts to internally affi x (hook and loop wrap) to the pole structure, side guyouts on the fl y have traditionally just pulled on the fl y. The V3 Enhanced Tent System’s vectored fl y-to-tent body pullouts attach to the tent body via a lightweight grosgrain webbing, toggle, and O-ring assembly. By supporting both the fl y and tent body, ventilation is

enhanced by maintaining the fl y-to-tent body gap, which is especially notable in wet conditions. Additionally, by tensioning the tent’s body, the tent’s internal

Timberline® SQ Outfi tter 4 & Outfi tter 6 Technology ExplainedOur proprietary injection molded Sequoia hub creates the optimum angles for 2 and 4 person-sized tents. To scale-up and attain the dimensions of a 6 person

sized Timberline® SQ tent required a different approach. In collaboration with DAC, we developed a new aluminum hub to provide the backbone for this new tent.

The new Timberline® SQ Outfitter 6 embodies the same strength, weatherproofness, and 24% increase in internal space as our other

Timberline SQ models. The robust 13mm and 14.5mm DA17 frame, along with the 8mm Pressfit spreader pole provide the framework to support this

large tent favored by many. The tent body is suspended from the frame with hooks and clips, making a quick setup for a tent of this size.
