Diseñado en 1896 por el Arq. Carlos Thays con estilo de Jardín Inglés. En sus 510 has. de extensión alberga más de 500 especies vegetales de diferentes partes del mundo. Los portones de ingreso fueron traídos de

Escocia en 1909.

It was designed in 1896 by architect Carlos Thays in an English garden style.

This 510-hectare park features more than 500 plant species from various parts of

the world. The entrance gates were brought from Scotland in 1909.

ESTADIO PROVINCIALMALVINAS ARGENTINASEnclavado en una hoya natural del terreno, fue construído en 1978

sin alterar el paisaje circundante, sobresalen solo sus torres de

iluminación. Posee una capacidad de 48.000 espectadores.

The local stadium is located on a natural pit on the land, it was built in 1978, thus keeping the surrounding

landscaped unaltered. Only its light towers stand out. It can accommodate 48,000 people.

MONUMENTO ALEJÉRCITO DE LOS ANDES

Conjunto escultórico realizado en 1914 que recrea la gesta sanmartiniana

inmortalizando la imagen del general San Martín y sus tropas, coronado

por una estatua de la libertad rompiendo las cadenas.

It is a group of sculptures created in 1914 that depict General San Martín’s

liberation campaign. The image shows the General and his

troops overlooked by a statue of liberty holding broken chains.

MONUMENTOCRISTO DE LOS CERROSEs una escultura de hierro y acero de 13 mts. de alto que representa

una imagen de Cristo vestido con ropa gauchesca.

SANTUARIO DE LA VIRGEN DE LOURDES

Centro de peregrinación, conformado por un Santuario del año 1933, de

estilo colonial y un moderno templo construído en 1996), con capacidad

para 4.000 personas. En el lugar existen surgentes de agua mineral.

It is a procession site that comprises a colonial-style sanctuary (1933) and a

modern church (1996) that can sit 4,000 people. There are some

mineral springs in the area, too.

PASEO ALAMEDAFue el primer paseo público (año 1808),

límite oeste de la antigua ciudad y centro de la actividad social de la época.

Aquí se ubican la Biblioteca y el Museo Histórico General San Martín.

This boulevard was the city’s first public recreational site (1808). It is located on

the western border of the Old City and most of the social events of those times

were concentrated there. Alameda houses the local library and General San

Martín Museum of History.

ÁREA FUNDACIONALCentro de la Vieja Ciudad fundada en

1561. Después del terremoto de 1861, el sitio quedó abandonado hasta que en 1993 se construye el conjunto denomi-

nado Área Fundacional con la Plaza Pedro del Castillo, el Museo Histórico, la Cámara Subterránea y las Ruinas de

San Francisco.

It was the center of the Old City founded in 1561. After the 1861

earthquake, this site was neglected until the creation in 1993 of the Area Fundacional cluster that comprises

Pedro del Castillo Square, a Museum of History, an underground chamber, and

San Francisco Church Ruins.

It was designed by Miguel Escorihuela Gascón in 1926. It was the first storey

condominium and shopping gallery in Mendoza. It has 4 floors and a

7-storey tower.

Fue creado en 1945, posee especies acuáticas locales y exóticas de agua

dulce y de agua salada, entre las cuales se destaca una tortuga marina

de gran tamaño.

Located in the O’Higgins Park. It was created in 1945. It showcases

native and exotic fresh water and sea species. A large sea turtle is

the aquarium’s star.

IGLESIA CATEDRAL NTRA. SRA. DE LORETO

Sus orígenes se remontan a una capilla existente en el Siglo XIX; designada

como Iglesia Matriz entre 1864 y 1886; luego funcionó como Parroquia a

partir de 1889; y posteriormente fue declarada Catedral provisoria en 1934.

His origins go back to an existing chapel in the 19th century; designated as Principal church between 1864 and

1886; then it worked as a Parish from 1889; and then was declared as provisional Cathedral in 1934.

PINACOTECA SANMARTINIANAFIDEL ROIG MATONS

Situada en el edificio del Honorable Concejo Deliberante de la Municipalidad, posee

una colección de pinturas que representan escenas del Cruce de Los Andes por

el Ejército Libertador.

Fidel Roig Matons San Martín-related Art Gallery is located in the building of the City Council. It exhibits a collection of paintings that depict scenes of the Liberation Army’s crossing The Andes.

IGLESIA DE LA CARRODILLAUbicada en el límite entre Godoy Cruz y Luján. La Iglesia, construída en 1840, alberga la imagen de la Virgen de la Carrodilla “Patrona de los Viñedos”.

It is located on the border between Godoy Cruz and Luján. This church, built in 1840, houses the image of

Virgen de la Carrodilla, patron saint of the vineyards.

MUSEO PROVINCIAL DE BELLAS ARTESEMILIANO GUIÑAZÚ - CASA DE FADERFunciona en una casa que data de fines del Siglo XIX y

que perteneció a Emiliano Guiñazú. Allí también vivió su yerno, el pintor Fernando Fader. Desde 1951, es sede

del Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes.

It is housed in an old building that dates back to ends of the 19th century previusly owned by Emiliano Guiñazú. There

also lived there his son-in-law, the painter Fernando Fader. From 1951, this place is the Provincial Museum of Fine arts.

ZANJÓN FRÍASSe origina en el Dique Frías y funciona como drenaje aluvional, de las lluvias

que bajan del pedemonte.

This canal starts at Frías levee and works as drainage of rainwater

running down the foothills.
