* To reduce crowding, each dog will run in an assigned time slot. Each time slot is 1 hour and 15 dogs will be assigned to each time slot. Both “morning” and “afternoon” runs will be done in the same time slot. The trial secretary will assign dogs to time slots as the entries come in. Exhibitors will receive an email on THURSDAY JANUARY 28th (after entries close at noon) with their time slot assignments. The time slot assignments will also be posted at the Test Site prior to the start time. Any conflicts can be addressed with the trial secretary.

COURSING ABILITY TEST ( CABT ) Coursing Ability Test (CABT) will be offered with a limit of 100 entries. Coursing Ability Tests are open to all dogs at least 12 months of age that are individually registered with the AKC, recorded in the Foundation Stock Service (FSS) program, individually registered with a foreign or domestic registry organization whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration, dogs granted a Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL) number, dogs with AKC Limited or Conditional Registration, or dogs enrolled in the AKC Canine Partners pro-gram. Dogs with breed disqualifications are eligible to enter. Females in season may not enter. A dog may enter only once per event. (An event is defined by an event number.) Dogs will be inspected prior to any wrapping being applied to the dog. In the opinion of the inspection committee, any entry found to be lame, unfit to compete or a female in season shall not be allowed to enter and entry fees shall be refunded.

The purpose of the AKC Fast CAT event is to provide all dogs and their owners an enjoyable, healthy activity in which they can participate. Dogs run singularly. The dog’s time to complete the 100 yard dash is converted into MPH. Dogs earn points based on their handicapped speed. Titles are awarded when a dog has accumulated a given number of points. For additional detail, please refer to AKC Regulations for Lure Coursing Tests and Trials, Chapter XVI.

L ure Equipment Gasoline powered continuous loop lure machine will be used; backup equipment will be available. Lure will consist of white plastic strips.

indicate whether you are entering a JC or QC test by either checking the JC box or circling or writing in “QC” in the same area of the entry form The Premium for this event is available at www.desertfunbunch.org There is a $25 fee for returned checks For hounds being entered in QC, it is the responsibility of the owner or handler to provide the Testing Hound for the QC qualification. The trial site is a grassy field. BRING WATER AND SHADE FOR YOUR HOUNDS. At this event, SMOKING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED except in your own vehicle. Persons exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct detrimental to AKC, this club, any hound, or other person will be asked to leave the trial site. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the site. There will be a $5.00 fine assessed on the owner/agent of any loose hound not running in a course in progress. Hospitality will not be provided by DFB. DESERT FUN BUNCH PROCEDURES We will follow State and Local required guidelines and/or the following: 1. All participant will wear facial coverings over nose and mouth and maintain social distancing of 6 feet. 2. Please bring your own food, water and shade for yourself and your dogs. None will be available at the trial. 3. We ask that you park 6 feet away from each other. 4. Roll Call will be done at everyone’s car, instead of at the secretary’s table area. The roll call committee will wear gloves and facial coverings. We will ask the owners of females to wipe their own dogs and show the inspection committee the tissue. 5. Wickets will be wiped down after each dog is measured. 6. We will have instant hand sanitizer and wet wipes in several locations for your use. 7. Huntmasters will stand 6 feet from the dogs after inspecting blankets and slip leads. 8. Practice social distancing the best you can. Please act responsibly. 9. Above all, have fun with your dogs and be safe!!
