type treatment — (arrangement of type on page) capitalization, centered, justified, flush left, flush right, extra leading
photo techniques — edges, blurs, radical cropping, duotones, COB, ghosting
photo collections — grouping photos to tell one story
color use — contrasting, tone on tone (i.e. black on black) gradients, spottextures — natural (i.e. cork, wood, sand), patterns
tints — percentages of colors and black
lines — rule lines & boxes used to combine or separate
shapes — circles, rectangles, squares, triangles, etc.
white space — spacing, margins, grids
