Design, Meanings, and Radical Innovation:
A Metamodel and a Research AgendaRoberto Verganti(2008)

Introduction
user-centered design
3
Introduction
design-driven innovation
• Apple 、 Bang & Olufsen•

Introduction
design-driven innovation
7
Purpose of the Article
8
Purpose of the Article
3) technology management の理論はどうmanagement of radical innovation of meanings に応用できるかを示す

Design and Innovation Strategies

Design and Innovation Strategies
Figure 1. The Dimensions of Innovation (Verganti, 2008)
11
Design and Innovation Strategies
Figure 2. Innovation Strategies (Verganti, 2008)

1) networked research process2)

Changes in Sociocultural Models,Disruptive Innovation of Meanings, and
Incumbents
18
Sociocultural Regimens and the Role ofComplementary Assets
( iPod, Swatch )

Dominant Languages and Dominant Designs
1. Dominant Design →

Architectures and Components as Languages and Signs
Single Product Components or Entire Product Architectures?

Managing the Network of Interpreters in the Design Discourse: Alliance and Codesign
Key interpreter
24
Designers as Brokers of Languages and Gatekeepers
25
Immersion in the Design Discourse and Absorptive Capacities
• Absorptive capacity ( Cohen,Levinthal )
My luck? Since I was a teenager I frequented the great architects with my father.
