what’s this all about?my name is antonio d. johnsonand i am what some call, a graphic designer.i believe that every person has a message, a personality, and an identity! I love to take the unfinished, unpolished, and sometimes random ideas, and making them real. Visual design is often the polar opposite of engineering: trading hard edges for subjective decisions based on gut feelings and personal experiences. It’s messy, unpredictable, and notoriously hard to measure. The apparently erratic behavior of artists drives engineers bananas. Their decisions seem arbitrary and risk everything with no guaranteed benefit.

Logo designing is the most crucial aspect of graphic designing, and creating ideas for great logos are not easy. Roots of arts and designing dated back to many centuries. Great designers and artists had shaped the history of arts and designing. Here I have collected few quotes by some greatest artists and logo designers, as well as quotes from some other famous people. These quotes surely are the greatest inspiration for the modern graphic designing.

CULTURATI was inspired by a creative group of young adults from different backgrounds, who share the same belief in a world united through fashion and various forms of art such as; music, writing, painting, dancing and more.

The designs of our clothing and other merchandise are centred on the idea of everything connecting to our theme “one world, one culture.”

In addition, these layouts will depict a mixture of different styles, graphics and inspirational quotes connected to what Culturati portrays. Our compositions will continue to change, keeping the nature of our work fresh and our brand progressing.

The Tru Image logo drew its inspiration for a camera shutter. The multicolored logo serves to mirror the purpose and personality of Tru Image. Dealing with many areas of visual medias, I found it important that this logo would be colorful and bold, having the ability to be used in many different areas and for many purposes.

The CJMoore Photography logo was inspired by a camera lens. Highlighting the “C”, and circular lines, the logo was created, not only to represent my customer, but to also use elements of photography in the design.

Posters are an incredibly common form of advertising. Whether they giant posters mounted to the side of a bus stop, or just a paper flyer tacked to a telephone pole, posters are designed to grab the viewers attention and invite them to take some action, either immediately, or in the future.

poster design Midnight Madness was commissioned by the SMSU Gamers Lounge.

finals packgiveawayThe event was put on to launch the new “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III”. For this project I decided to play off of the, already established, Call of Duty franchise. Along with a t-shirt design to help promote the event, I went with a clean, geometric look while also adding rough, grunge textures to the flyer.

scare factorThis Scare Factor event, based off the T.V. show Fear Factor, was a fun one to work with. I chose to incorporate pictures into the flyer depicting people scared, grossed out, or flat out shocked. Using the black and yellow colors from the original show, I felt that the contrasting colors really created and eye catching flyer that helped in the events success.

cinco de mayoThis flyer was created in the Spring of 2010 in celebration of Cinco De Mayo. For this flyer I felt that it would be important to incorporate certain images and colors in the flyer such as the red, green and white, the eagle with the snake in its mouth, and creating a the tan parchment texture background. I felt that this flyer was very effective in creating the desired outcome in properly advertising this Cinco De Mayo celebration.

“Out” SeriesThe “Out” Series was an event/campaign created to celebrate the National Coming Out Day, on October 10, 2011. For this event I created a flyer series the highlight the events that would be taking place that week. I felt that it was important the flyers be able to stand alone, yet work together to fit the entire design scheme. Also created were hand0outs that folded. These handouts would also highlight all the events of that week.
