Outside Cover – Front - Cut a 6” x8”matfromblackcardstock.Cut a 5¾” x 7¾” piece from red instrument paper, adhere to mat.Cuta2¼”x8”stripfromblackcardstock.Cuta2”x8”strip from black stripe paper, adheretomat.Addthispiece1” to the left side of the red instrumentcoverpiece.Cut4¼”x6¼”matfromblackcardstock.

Directions: Step 1 – CoverInside Cover – Cut two 5¾” x 7¾” pieces fromredstripepaper.Cuttwo4¼”x6¼”matsfromblackcardstock,roundcorners.Adhere an ephemera card to the center of eachmatusingfoamadhesiveasshown.

Add “Where Words Fail Music Speaks”

ephemera to the mat using dimensional

foamadhesive. Adhere to the cover

pieceasshown.

Carefully cut out red cello and black horn from the bottom of the red and

black instrument papers.Trimthehornas shown so that you haveaflatbottom.Mount pieces on black cardstockandtrim.Add horn on top of the cello and add to the left side of the ephemera card using dimensional foam adhesive.Add“pearlgems”asdesired. Set cover piece aside untilStep28.

Outside Cover : Back – Cut a 5¾” x 7¾” piece from black stripepaper(showninstep28).Setaside.

Step 2 – Signature Page Covers

Cutsix5¼”x7¼”pieces.Threefrom

red typography paper and three from the black

typographypaper.

Step 3 – Pocket Covers

Cuttwelve5¼”x 2¾” strips fromredfloralpaper.

Cut twelve 5¼”x1”strips

from black stripepaper.

Adhere the striped strips to the tops of each redfloralpiece.

Step 4 – Gate-fold CardsCutsix9”x4”stripsfromblackcardstock.

Starting from the left, score at2¼”and6¾”.

Fold at score lines toward the center of

the piece, burnish edges tocreatesharpedges.




Cut twelve 2” x 3¾” vertical strips from black floralpaper.

Cut twelve 2” x 3¾” pieces from

blackstripepaper.Be sure the paper

design is cut so the striped pattern is

horizontal.

Therewillbetwodifferentdesigns.Threewillhavethestripeddesignontheoutsideflapandfloralontheinsideflaps(above).Threewillhavethefloraldesignon the outside and the striped design on the inside (below).Cutsix4¼”x3¾”piecesfromredinstrumentpaperandadhereapiecetothecenterofeachpanel.

Cut six 2” squares from black cardstock tocreatemats.Cutsix 1¾” squares from red

instrument paper, adheretomats.Center

the pieces and add adhesive to the back

of the side that will touchtherightflap.

Add 18” of jute around the card and tie a bow

infront.

Step 5 – Top Fold Cards

Cutsix3¼”x8½”verticalstripsfrom black cardstock, score in thecentertoforma3¼”x4¼”card,roundcorners.Cut twelve 3” x 4” pieces, six from red typography paper and six from black typography paper, round corners and adhere to insideofcardasshown.

Mount 3” x 4” ephemera cards to the front cover

of each card using

dimensional foamadhesive.

Add pearls asdesired.

Step 6 – Side Pocket Photo Mats

Therearesixside-loadingphotomats.Cuttwo5” x 7” pieces from each: black instrument, red stripeandblackfloral.Roundallcorners.Choosewhich sides of the paper you would like to have facingfront.




Cutsix3”x1½”stripsfromred instrument, fold in half androundallcorners.Addadhesive to the back of eachstrip.

Arrange the tabs to the right sides of

the mats for desired spacing as shown

andadhere.

Cut six 5” x 1” strips from red stripe paper, choose the side you want to have showing on the front and add 1 ⁄8” double sided tape to the outer edges to allow a photo to slipthrough.

Adhere the six stripsasshown.

Add large Pearl Gems to the

center of each tab, black on the

front and gold ontheback.

Step 7 – Photo MatsCut six 4” x 6” pieces from black instrument paper.Setaside.

Step 8 – Tags

Adhere a 3” x 4”

ephemera card to

each tag asshown.

Cutsix3½”x4½”pieces,two from each paper: red stripe, black typography and redinstrument.Round corners and adhere to the back of each tag.Addpearlsasdesired.Add10” of jute to makeabow. Setaside.

stripe paper to the backcover.

Find a scrap piece, trimtofitinlabelholderonspine.Youcan also create a personalizedlabel.

Refer to steps 9 — 26 to add pull out mats to each sidepocketandtagstoeachofthepagepockets.

the end pieces and fold backwards toward the

Add the panel to the center of the

mechanism.Foldtheside pieces back to

applyadhesive.

Close mechanism so that the centerofthepanelfacesfront.

10.Cardbase—Cuta4¼”x11”strip from black cardstock, score

inthecentertocreatea4¼”x5½”card.Closemechanismandadddoublesidedtapetobothsides.Open the card base and adhere

onesideatatime.

11.Followingthecutting guide, cut two4”x5¼”mats

fromredfloralpaper.TieRibbon

around the card base to get spacing,

then adhere along thebackasshown.

12.Addmattothebackof the card on top of ribbon.Untiebow,turncard base to the front andaddremainingmat.

13.Cuta3¼”x4¼”matfrom

blackcardstock.Add “Dearest”

ephemeracard.Adhere piece to the front of the card base using

dimensional foam adhesive.Add

“pearl gems” as desired.Tiebow.
