Back, front and front bands with buttonholes are worked flat on circular needles in one piece up to the armholes. Then the right front is worked separately, with the remaining stitches placed on a holder or left unworked on the needle. Now the back is finished separately, and finally the left front. All parts are worked with raglan decreases as shown in the charts. The sleeves are edged by a broader rib section which is folded up for a double “cuff ”, and with raglan decreases that are joined to the fronts and back. Finally, stitches are picked up and worked in rib for the neckband.

FinishingJoin all seams from RS using mattress stitch. Before joining raglan seams, fold sleeve ribbing halfway to RS of work. Include both layers in the raglan seams, fold sleeve ribbing halfway to RS of work. Include both layers in the raglan seams, beginning raglan seams ca. 1 cm up from the bottom of the armholes and ending at neck edge. Tack down folded rib at centre sleeve with 1-2 stitches.

Neckband: Note that the neckband offers more detailed sizing than the pattern itself, using different needle sizes and numbers of stitches to accommodate a better fit. Working from RS and using 3.75 mm needle for sizes XS and L only and 4 mm needle for all other sizes, pick up the following numbers of sts along right front, right sleeve, back, left sleeve and left front respectively (pick up sts from existing fabric – they are not knitted yet):

XS/S/M 27, 31, 23, 31, 27 sts = 139 sts with 3.75 mm needle for a size XS and 4 mm for size S/ML/XL 33, 21, 39, 21, 33 sts = 147 sts with 3.75 mm needle for a size L and 4 mm for a size XL2XL 35, 21, 39, 21, 35 sts = 151 sts with 4 mm needle3XL 37, 21, 39, 21, 37 sts = 155 sts with 4 mm needle.

Join yarn at right side from RS.Row 1 (RS): K1, [p1, k1] to end.Row 2 (WS): P1, [k1, p1] to end.Row 3 (RS), buttonhole row: k1, p1, k2tog, yo, work remaining sts in rib as set.Work 3 more rows in k1, p1 rib as set. Cast off knitting all sts (i.e. not in rib).Sew buttons to left button band opposite from buttonholes.

Place this loop on the left needle. Repeat this procedure for the remaining 5 holes of the pattern repeat from right to left, placing a bead on 2 of the last 3 loops as you please. Now slip all 6 loops and the following stitch to the right needle.
