PROJECT – (A) – DENTAL PORTAL

Introduction: A portal is generally a vehicle by which to gain

access to a multitude of 'services'. A web site is a destination in itself. As such the term

website refers to a location on the Internet that is unique and can be accessed through a URL. By that definition a web portal is in fact also a website.

A website is also a web portal if it transmits information from several independent sources that can be, but not necessarily are, connected in subject.

Thus offering a public service function for the visitor which is not restricted to presenting the view(s) of one author.

Page 6: Designing of web portals

INTRODUCTION (CONTD..) In this project, we focus on Portal Development for

Dentists, which is not seen very often. To ensure the correctness of users' data, we propose

an effective and flexible distributed scheme with two salient features, opposing to its predecessors.

Main Features: The first feature is Allotment of Appointment which is

unique for each patient i.e. No two Patients (Users) can get the appointment at same time and date. This way we ensure the Privacy among different Users.

The second feature is Providing of Jobs. Any Third-party User can apply for the job and the application will be under process until the admin accepts it.

Page 7: Designing of web portals

PROJECT – (B) – CSC COLLABORATION

Introduction CSC portal is an interaction portal between

College, Student and Company. It deals with practice program that is working

out successfully in our entire university. Up to now all the things are done by human

interaction (Company Guide, Students, and College Guide) i.e. to know what companies are arriving, applying for some particular companies, Assigning of a company, collecting the weekly reports, Project status...etc.

It's the time to say good bye to all those ancient methods as from now everything is modernized.

Page 22: Designing of web portals

INTRODUCTION (CONTD..)

The detailed description can be given as: Any student with certain cut-off can apply

the practice school program. Companies sort these students and give

many companies as options according to their GPA.

Company Interviews and Evaluates the applied students and selects them, then the entire 4months reports submission is done through Online and only Interim and Final evaluations are done in person.

Finally we conclude with futuristic views for the quick emergence of this emerging technology.

Page 23: Designing of web portals

PURPOSE

The main purpose of CSC portal is to make services / work flow done by the students, College and Company through online.

This makes life easy. As technology is developing it is better use that technology for our own good. It saves time, travel expenses for the students.

In a better context everyone is addicted to these Online portals, so they will feel free to access their profiles and last submission date will automatically closed so that we can maintain some strict rules.

Page 24: Designing of web portals

SCOPE

On making this problem statement proposed into existence can make down many of the problems to face the end gate.

Our implementation is striving for the maintenance and 24/7 available for all the Practice School Registered Students, which means it provides the benefit of knowledge for the upcoming workshops, fests and Placements for the students directly from the board of Placements & University.

On following this implementation One faculty who have particular skill set is appointed to maintain this College End and One Member from the Company is allotted as Company Guide who maintains the Company End.

Page 25: Designing of web portals

OBJECTIVE

The main Objective of our portal is to provide clear cut information about Visiting Companies and their profiles through Online.

We utilize the online services and reduce the time factor. Now a days Machines are most trustworthy than humans.

So let’s leave a leap of faith on them and let them do the work.

Page 26: Designing of web portals

EXISTING SYSTEM

The present situation is each student has to contact college regularly and submit their resume and other practice school interests by paper only.

The University Management also gets in contact with the student by visiting them and travelling all over to their regions.

All the Report Submissions are done manually and coming to the company perspective their work is to train the student and allot marks to the student based on their performance.

These entire works are done manually.

Page 27: Designing of web portals

DRAW BACKS

Students submit their fortnightly reports through hardcopy.

University Guides collect their reports by travelling all over to their region from the university.

Paper work is increased. Please consider the environment before printing.

Page 28: Designing of web portals

PROPOSED SYSTEM

We solved the major issue i.e. Paper Work by putting e-submission technique.

We also reduced the travelling expenses of Management, Student by maintaining this portal.

Portal has different logins for Students, Regional Guide, Company guide and University Administrator

Portal can be environment friendly and is also User friendly.

MODULES

There are 3 modules in CSC Interaction Management. They are

Student Arena Company College Compound Database Administrator

Page 31: Designing of web portals

STUDENT ARENA

This is a Student World, first of all students should register his/her name. The Registered students are verified by the college authority and will be preceded based on their Resume.

The next level is that selection of the company .Student is given with list of companies and he/she can apply only company at a time .

Another part of this module is submission of report to the college (company guide). This is a chain process in which student will submit their report to their company and by reviewing it and as well as grading it they submit those reports to the college authority.

Page 32: Designing of web portals

COMPANY

This part of the module is handled by the company officials.

One person from the company is given permission to handle with valid username and password.

Students who requested for a particular company for internship all those applications are reviewed by the company officials and then they can either accept or reject students request.

They also perform verification of reports submitted by the students .Any training works, workshops are done through this portal only.

Page 33: Designing of web portals

COLLEGE COMPOUND

In the College module there are certain works like verifying student profile whether he/she is eligible for PS are not. Allocating company to student through company is done here.

Administrator will get feedback from students and act accordingly. Gathering reports from the students are also seen here. Any news (such as Placement information, Workshops, Fests...etc.) from college are informed to the students through this portal only.

Page 34: Designing of web portals

DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

This part of the module is handled by the website backend designer.

This person should have the knowledge on databases and their related queries.

His work is to design the database and the required tables. He must be able to JOIN one or more tables if necessary.

He has all the rights to add / remove / update the users / companies / news feed. Generally he is appointed by the college (A trustful person).

Page 35: Designing of web portals

CONCLUSION CSC Interaction Management Strives its best in such a

way to provide efficient interface between students, college, company.

It overcomes many problems involved in the manual method of practice school.

This portal helps in the mutual development of three actors involved. It is simply a three-tier architecture where student acts as a key, college acts as a lock, company acts as a door.

Here Students uses college to gain experience and open the doors of their career.

Company opens its opportunities by extending the internships for students. College acts as a mediator that helps in maintaining the communication between the student and the company.
