JOB DESCRIPTION

The University is developing a Centre for Research and Development on Learning(CRADLE) and we are seeking dynamic research scientists to join us in thisendeavor. The mission of CRADLE is to integrate research in Neuroscience,Psychology, Pedagogy and Technology to inform learning and education.

The current position is for a candidate to conduct research in the study of thinkingand/or the neuroscience of learning. For the study of thinking, research will involvetranslation of the study of thinking into learning design and solutions for highereducation settings, including the use of eLearning and learning analytics. Theresearch in the neuroscience of learning (cognitive or aective) will aim to bridgefindings from educational neuroscience to educational strategies. The center willhave access to state-of-art elearning technologies and neuroimaging facilities (EEGsystems, fNIRS, TMS, and 3T MRI scanner)

The successful candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with localneuroimaging and cognitive labs (Clinical Brain Lab at NTU psychology,Educational and Cognitive Development Lab (ECDL) at the National Institute ofEducation and other local institutions involved in imaging research, such as, theNational University Hospital Singapore, the Clinical Imaging Research Centre,DukeNUS and A*STAR at the Singapore BioImaging Consortium), as well as theParmenides Foundation at Munich, Germany.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience with studies on human thinking, design of learning solutions and/orfamiliarity with theories and approaches of the study of thinking (Cognostics).

Experience with conducting behavioral experiments in neuropsychology orcognitive psychology, neuroimaging techniques (functional and diusionMRI/EEG/fNIRS and/or TMS)

Familiarity with image data analysis tools such as SPM, FSL, AFNI, Matlab,DSIstudio etc.

This is a 3-year renewable position with start-up research and travel fundingsupport. Pay will be commensurate with experience and the oer packageincludes relocation and health benefits.
