A cultural-historical monument dating back to 1819. In former times, by opening the flood gates, the tree logs were floated by the dammed-up water towards the River Traun. Easy reachable by foot or by mountain bike as it is only 6 km away from Weißenbach.

In early times this 600 years old farmyard was a substantial business. Even nowadays the famous Anzenau bread is still baked in the traditional stone oven – the so called “black smokery”. Ongoing exhibitions add to the program.

The term and logo HAND.WERK.HAUS is represented by the building which was part of the national exhibition 08 in Bad Goisern at Lake Hallstatt. The HAND.WERK.HAUS is located in the castle of Neuwildenstein and accommodates “S‘Gschäft” presenting high-quality hand-crafted products as well as an all-year exhibition of various handcrafts. Meistersommer (master craftsman summer) and Meisteradvent (master craftsman advent) are annual highlights.

The museum of Bad Goisern was opened in 1981 by a local group preserving regional tradition and folklore in the former annex of the Goiserer Mill. Learn about the history of the Goiserer valley (hunting tradition, handicrafts, folklore etc.) More than 350 original exhibits depict the 267 year old local history and life of the Landler.

The “Dürrenholzstube” in Weißenbach was carefully dismantled and relocated to the Müllnerwäldchen where it has been equipped with original appliances and tools of the lumberjacks. See the open fire place where the lumberjacks cooked their dumplings and other hefty lard dishes. Pictures and exhibits give insight into the heavy as well as dangerous work of the lumberjacks.

The „Bone House“ dates back to the 12th century. The charnel house stores about 1200 human skulls. 610 of them have been hand-painted and arranged according to individual families annotating the year of the death.

The Evangelical Church was first built as a Prayer Room in 1785. Not until the royal decree by the Emperor Franz Josef I the building of the actual church started. In October 1863, after only fives years of construction time, the new Church was finished.

Herren trail, Gosau, hike from the Kalvarienberg to the Zwieselalm, about 8 km, a gently ascending path which can be easily done in 4 hours, Empress Sisi was carried

in a sedan chair on this very same trail!

Hoher dachstein, 2.996 m, Gosau, the King’s Tour of the hikes! 2-3 hours climb from the Adamek lodge via the Gosau Glacier, sure-footedness and appropriate equipment is essential. From Obertraun (with the cable car) to the Simonyhütte –

Hoher Dachstein 3 hours climb.

Hiking around the Gosaukamm, Gosau, Walking time about 8 hours; narrow, partly rocky path, moderate climb at the Austriaweg, however the Steigelpass is rather steep. Recommended for experienced hikers only.

Hiking around the Lower Lake Gosau , Gosau, about 4 km, takes about an hour walking time, very easy hiking path with the world famous view of the Dachstein mountain range! Suitable for buggies and wheelchair. Various works of art along the path present the topic water.

rough and partly very steep terrain. Sure footedness is required! Take along a warm pullover and gloves!

Hiking to the Goiserer Lodge, 1.592 m, Gosau, Walking time about 3 hours on forest roads to the Iglmoos pastures and further on to the Goiserer Lodge. From there one could climb the Hohen Kalmberg! (about 1 hour)

Plassen, 1.954 m, Hallstatt, Walking time (one way): 4,5 hours from the valley and 3.5 hours with the cable car. Due to the breathtaking view it is worthwhile to do a day tour. The Plassen is Hallstatt’s landmark mountain.

Waterfall Waldbachstrub, 610 m, Glacier Park, Hallstatt, Walking time (one way): 1.5 hours. An easy tour which can be done by anyone, captivating the hikers

with its scenic attractions throughout the season.
