New Things to Do – Prison of Elders

What’s New?

2 New Difficulties Level 41 & 42 (Taken Edition – Taken Enemies & Bosses)

New Bounties will be able available with Variks to earn House of Judgement Reputation & Experience.

Level 41 – Has Matchmaking o Recommended Light is 260 and Rewards drop up to 320 Light. Level 41 will be more like the normal

Prison of Elders but has a 50/50 chance to be Taken version. Earn gear up to 320 Light.

Level 42 – Challenge of the Elders w/No Matchmaking o Recommended Light is 320. Rewards drop up to 335 Light. Level 42 is a timed & scored activity.

Variks will grow inpatient after 5 minutes in each round and will start to decrease the teams score.

The Elders Sigil is tracked by completing 3 rounds with bosses on each round & your fireteams score will be tracked on the Elders Sigil card. You will need a new Elders’ Sigil Card every reset, progress & score is only saved on each card per week.

There is a High Score & Cumulative Score.

o If players hit the High Score of 30,000 a Guaranteed 335 Weapon will be rewarded & If the fireteam hits a Cumulative Score of 90,000 in the week a Guaranteed 335 Armor Piece will be rewarded

Prison of Elders has 4 New Bosses & 4 Original Bosses with Unique New Tricks o There is a total of 16 unique encounters in the Challenge of Elders, based on different boss

variations and modifiers.

New Things to Do - Strikes

What’s New?

The April Update will have a new Questline, which will include the Blighted Chalice Strike featuring Malok, a new Taken boss. There will be a chance for strike exclusive items to drop from this strike such as a new Hunter Helmet called The Hood of Malok. (click link for details)

The Winter’s Run Strike (Taken Edition) is being added back to the Strike Playlist, with Taken

enemies and a Taken version of the Archon Priest (Boss). There will also be a chance of earning unique rewards from this strike. (click images to watch video or for more info)

New Things to Earn

What’s New – Summary

Increased Light Level - 335 (Visit Light Journey to find out different ways to reach 335 Light)

Exotic Engrams will drop up to 335 & Non-Exotic Engrams drop up to 310.

Updated Exotics & Legendary Items from Year 1 will be added

to Year 2’s inventory and obtainable through ranking up.

Vault Space will be increasing with 1 additional tab for Weapons, Armor & General items.

New “Lossless” Light System – You will no longer lose points when ascending an item (ex. Ratio is always 1:1)

New Armor (such as the taken style Desolate line), New

Weapons, Ships, Sparrows, Consumed Ghost Shell (earn from Challenge of the Elders), & Emotes will be added in the April Update. (The Taken Emote is only obtainable when you collect the complete Desolate Armor set)

New Stock at Eververse (Emotes, Chroma, Ships, and more)

Reputation gains will be greatly increased in Strikes, Patrols,

Prison of Elders, and Crucible (legendary drop rates are increased as well & weekly Crucible bounty will offer unique weapons up to 335 Light)

New Items

Sterling Treasure boxes are a source of new Armor,

Chroma, Ships, Sparrows, and Boosts

You can earn a total of 3 Sterling Treasure boxes each week by: Playing 1 Weekly Crucible match

featured in the Director, complete Level 41 Prison of

Elders, & by visiting a Postmaster in the Tower or

the Reef

Chroma is a new material that enables you to add a

stylish glow to your character (Chroma comes in

red, blue, white, & yellow)

Chroma can be added to weapons & gear. (see video
