Sort any column by clicking on the column heading.

Filter data by entering criteria in the box below the column heading. Click the filter icon and choose an option from the drop-down menu.

Click the question mark icon next to the ESE or ELL column heading to view code translations.

Click the ‘Export to CSV’ button to export data in CSV format, which is compatible with Microsoft Excel and most spreadsheet/database management systems. Click the ‘Export to PDF’ button to export data in PDF format, which is compatible with Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat, etc. Please note: PDF files cannot be edited.

Click the ‘Add Selected Students to Group’ button to create or add to a student group created by you. More details on this feature can be found in the Students Tab section of this manual.

Dashboard Teachers have a unique dashboard view, which includes important student and course information.

Student ListOn the left side of the screen is a list of courses and the students enrolled in that course.

Click on Student List drop down menu to filter student list by class, grade level, subgroups or student groups created by you.

Click on a student’s ID number to view more details about that student.

Click on class name to see grades, assessments attendance, curriculum maps, data sets, and student reports for that class.

FCAT DataIn the center of the screen, you can view assessment data. Use the dropdown menu to filter list by Subject Preference and Students (by class, grade level and other subgroups).

Click on Student List drop down menu to filter student list by class, grade level, subgroups or student groups created by you.

Click on Student Details to view more details about that student.

Click on checkbox next to any student name and click Add Selected Students to Group button or click the Add All Students to Group button to create your own student groups.

Student Details Click on a student’s name or student ID to view more details such as contacts, assessment data, attendance, misconduct, grades, schedule and more.

ContactsClick Contacts to view student’s contact information.

AssessmentsClick Assessments to view student’s standardized assessment data such as FCAT, Discovery Ed, SAT, ACT, FAIR, Dibels, etc. Click on assessment name to view additional details.

Student ReportsClick Student Reports to view/print customizable student reports. Use the drop-down menus to choose desired subject and number of years of data to be included in the report. Use the checkboxes to select the data to include in report.

Student GroupsCreating student groups allows you to view reports throughout EdInsight for specified group of students you have created.

Click the checkbox next to any student you want to include in the Student Group and click the Add Selected Students to Group button. To select all students, click the checkbox column heading to include all students in the report or click the Add All Students to Group button.

A new window will appear. Click the Add Students button to include these students in a group you have already created. If you are creating a new group, type in a name for this group and click the Create Group button.

You can now run any classroom report by the student group you created.

The Spotlight Report provides a quick view of student attendance, misconduct, grades and FCAT scores. To view the Spotlight Report, click on Spotlight Report tab.

Spotlight Report Helpful Hints

Sort any column by clicking the column heading. Click a second time to sort in reverse order.

You can export the Spotlight Report to a spreadsheet by clicking the Export to CSV button.

Add students to an existing group or create a new student group by clicking the checkbox next to any student’s name and clicking Add Selected Students to Group button.

Hover your mouse over the Spec. Dem., Over Age, Retention, Attendance, Misconduct, OSS, Grades, FCAT, EOC or DE columns to view more details.

The Risk Score column uses various categories such as attendance, misconduct and grades to determine a student’s potential risk score. To view student risk score details, click on any student’s risk score. Please note: categories and values for each category are determined by the district and are subject to change.

To view how the Risk Score is calculated, click Help in the upper right hand corner of the Spotlight Report and scroll down in the window that appears.

Click on a Classes tab to see spotlight report, grades, assessments attendance, curriculum maps, data sets, and student reports for any class.

Click on a class name to view more details.

OverviewSpotlight Report provides a “spotlight” of students in your class in areas such as attendance, grades and FCAT scores.

GradesClick on the Grades tab to view course grade history for each student in the class.

AssessmentsClick on the Assessment tab to view assessment data such as FCAT, EOC, FAIR, CELLA, SAT and ACT for students in the class. Select an assessment from the drop-down menu and click Show Profile button.

View list of assessment data for each student in the class.

Scroll down to view additional bar graph of class data by category (available for select assessments only).

AttendanceClick on the Attendance tab to view data on absences and tardies by class.

Student Reports Click on Student Reports tab to view a detailed report for each student in the class. Choose Assessment Subject and # of Years of data to include in report using the drop-down menus. Click the checkbox next to each item in include in report. Click View PDF Report button.

Last Year Classes

To view prior year’s classes, select Last Year from the submenu of the Classes tab. Click on any one of last year’s classes.

Select one of the tabs to view Grades, Assessments or Attendance for any of the previous year’s classes.

Click the Assessments tab and select any one of the assessment available from the drop down menu. Click the Show Profile button.

View scores or click Export to CSV button to save results as a spreadsheet.

Classroom Reports Reports are available for various standardized assessments under the Classroom Reports tab. You can choose an assessment from the submenu and select the report you would like to run.

Select the testing year you would like to view. You can run a report for all courses, select courses, a student group created by you (in the Students tab), grade level, or demographic information. Put a check mark next each category you would like included in the report. Then select the Run Report button.

FCAT-EOC Spreadsheet

The FCAT-EOC spreadsheet contains the following:

Standard Student Demographic Information: State Student ID, District Student ID, Last Name, First Name, Middle Name, Birth Date, Cost Center Number, Current School, Current Grade, Gender, Ethnicity, Race, LEP Y/N, LEP (code), SWD Y/N, SWD (code) and ED.

FCAT/FCAT 2.0 Reading, Math and Science Achievement Level and Standard Score (previous three years on screen & previous seven years export to CSV)

FCAT/FCAT 2.0 Writing Score (previous three years on screen & previous seven years export to CSV)

Algebra EOC Achievement Level and Standard Score

These spreadsheets can be exported to CSV (compatible with Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet software) and used to analyze assessment data further.

To run the FCAT-EOC Spreadsheet, select Spreadsheet from the Classroom Reports tab.

To run the report all your students, click on Run Report by Building. You can also filter by grade level by using the Current Grade Level drop-down menu.

To run report for a specific student group you have already created, click on Run Report by Student Group button. Select the group from the drop-down menu.

Click the Run Report button.
