Increased awareness of the need for safe cells has implications on the design of detention door furniture. Anti-ligature, strength, durability, ease of use and aesthetics are now highly considered factors in selecting products for use in these environments.

The Lockwood Detention Series door furniture range was developed after extensive research with government representatives, architects, nurses and locksmiths experienced in correctional, juvenile justice and health departments. Lockwood’s solution protects the well-being of patients and inmates without compromising security and staff safety.

Anti-ligature Leading edge design of the furniture ensures that it is free of hanging points when installed on the door.

SafetyNo sharp edges or corners to minimise injuries from impact.

FeaturesLockwood detention furniture turnknobs feature a clutching mechanism that allows the cylinder to operate even if the turn knob is held from the inside. Also, the grip maximising and anti-ligature feature of the webbed knob is design registered in Australia and New Zealand.

Australian StandardsThe product meets all relevant Australian Standards for Strength, Durability and Fire-rating.

Secure AreaDesigned for use with Lockwood 3570 Series and Lockwood 3579 Secure Area Rated Mortice Locks.

220D Series DescriptionA heavy duty plate designed for use in hospitals and detention facilities. Styled for institutional use, this plate has six fixing points to ensure that it is well secured to the door. All available functions of this furniture are designed to be free of ligature points.

PullsFlush PullThe detention flush pull has been designed to maximise grip and eliminate the possibility of hiding objects in the cavity.

Standard Pull

The detention pull allows for a firm grip and can be used to open heavy doors. Also designed to be free of hanging points.

Cylinder GuardsDescriptionCylinder guards must be fitted with any cylinder plate function. Guards are available to suit different door thicknesses.

Fixing ScrewsTorx anti-tamper, snake-eye and standard screws are available in accessory packets to suit different door thicknesses. Only standard screws to suit doors 35 mm – 45 mm thick are supplied with furniture. Other variations need to be ordered separately using part numbers specified.
