Instructions for editing items in DSpace

1. Log in to DSpace at http://www.dalnetarchive.org/.

2. Click on your library’s community.

3. Search or browse for the item you want to edit.

4. Click on the item.

5. Click on Edit this Item.

6. On the “Edit Item” screen, you have many options. On the Item Status tab, you can withdraw, move, or make the item private.

On the Item Bitstreams tab, you can upload new file(s). Or you can check the box in front of a file you want to delete and click the Delete Bitstreams button.

On the Item Metadata tab (see page 5), you can:

Add new metadata fields by clicking the Name dropdown and selecting the field and entered the data in the Value field. Then click Add New Metadata.

Remove a metadata field by clicking the box in the Remove column and then clicking Update at the bottom.

Edit an existing metadata field by editing the Value field and clicking Update at the bottom.

The View Item tab will show you the brief record. Click the “Show full item record” link to see all the item’s metadata.

On the Curate tab, you can perform tasks.

7. When you are done editing, click the Return button.
