Outline

Feb. 2 - 6, 2009 2009 Gas-Lift Workshop 3

PDO Gaslift history…

Upto 1990’s PDO gaslift was quite well managed

After reaching desired efficiency levels, gaslift was embedded into routine operations

Ownership was handed over to operations community

Due to increased workloads, new projects and lack of resources, priorities got changed

This resulted lack of focus to gaslift (“Everything is everybody’s job”)

A Technology Focus Group was formed in late 2006 to bring back the focus

Feb. 2 - 6, 2009 2009 Gas-Lift Workshop 4

When Gaslift TFG took over…

Wells were waiting for gaslift valves, spares and wire line units for valve change outs.

Acute shortage of staff and skill sets in the workshop

Frequent failures in interventions

Well models outdated

Data coming in various formats, often software cannot read them.

No control on process, no one know whom to approach

No training, no communication channels..

No planning on materials

No introduction of New technology
