  • One possible version It was a sunny morning in Zhongshan Park. There were many people buying ice-cream at an ice-cream stand. A woman with a very fashionable handbag was going to buy one for her child. But when she was about to take out some money from the bag, a man rushed to her and snatched her bag away.

  • Oh! My bag! the woman shouted. She ran after the man and some people followed her. An old man was sitting on the bench enjoying the sunshine when he heard the cry. He saw the man was running in his direction, so just as the man was running past him, he tripped the man over with his umbrella.

  • The woman and some other people ran up and caught the man and phoned the police to take him away. Thank you very much! The woman said gratefully to the old man. Its nothing. The old man replied. Everyone would do the same. Its just what I should do!

  • Guided Writing2008 ShanghaiDirections: Write an English composition in 120 - 150 words according to the instructions given below in Chinese.group dancing competition)

  • 1. English composition of 120-150 words2. About your opinion on taking part in the group dancing competition.3. Outline: Introduction to the topic Your reasons for doing soConclusion Steps for writing

  • 4. linking words: generally speaking, there are some reasons, first, second/ what is more, all in all/ for these reasons, because 5. Tenses: Present simple Future

  • 6. Possible expressions: group dancing competition, to take an active part in, participate, hesitate, good opportunity, careful consideration, relax, make some contributions to the class, strong enthusiasm, dancing skill

  • Possible version 1A group dancing competition will be held in our school and the monitor calls on everybody to take an active part in it. While most of my classmates are still hesitating whether to participate, I have said yes to our monitor with great pleasure.

  • Generally speaking, there are two reasons for my decision. First, it is a good opportunity for me to relax myself, which will enable me to study more efficiently. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, so goes the saying, which clearly shows us the importance of relaxation. Besides, I think I am a good dancer after learning dance for more than five years.

  • Participating in the contest will be a golden chance for me to show my dancing skills and make some contributions to the class. For the two reasons mentioned above, it is no surprise that I have such a strong enthusiasm on the group dancing competition.

  • Possible version 2 Today the monitor calls on everybody to take an active part in the group dancing competition which will be held in a couple of days in our school. But after some careful consideration, I have decided not to participate. There are a number of reasons for my decision. First and foremost, as the College Entrance Exam is just around the corner, study is the top priority for me.

  • Participating in the group dancing competition has to give way because it might take me too much time. Whats more, without any experience of dancing, I dont think I can be a good dancing partner. I am afraid my poor dancing skills will probably spoil the performance of the whole class. In this case, its better for me to be a spectator cheering for my classmates. For these reasons, it seems more appropriate for me to watch the competitionthan to dance myself.

  • (15)50In your English class, the teacher shows the picture below and asks the class to discuss itYour classmates have different understandingsLook at the picture carefully and tell the class how YOU understand it2009

  • As we can see from the picture; this kind of situation seems quite common, all in all, : / Chinese character, scared, equal position, share ideas, listen respectfully, give orders, listen patiently

  • One possible version As we can see from the picture, two people, father and son, are talking to each other. The boy, standing on the ground, is looking up at his father, slightly scared, while his father, seated high on a big Chinese character fu, meaning father, is shouting to his son.

  • Such a situation seems fairly common in our society. When talking to each other, father and son are not in equal positions. Fathers simply tell their sons what to do rather than listen patiently. Therefore, sons will have few chances to share their own ideas or open up to their fathers.

  • They often look up to their fathers with respect, fearing that they might not live up to fathers expectations.

I hope our parents will listen to us more instead of just giving us orders.

  • 2009,, , , Green Action in Our Class : 60 : suburbs

  • Green Action in Our Class, : / /

  • in the morning, upon arrival, immediately, as soon as, at once, after getting the work done, before leaving , while doing, as doing .: bicycled to the suburbs ; dig holes, plant young trees, water (the trees), put up a board, remind of sth. / to do sth, protect the environment

  • April 12 is memorable because our class had a meaningful experience on that day. In the morning, we bicycled to the suburbs to plant trees, talking and laughing all the way. Upon arrival, we began to work immediately. Some were digging holes. Some were carrying and planting young trees. Others were watering them. One possible version

  • After getting the work done, we put up a board reminding people to protect the trees. Before leaving we took some photos to record our green action. Seeing the lines of trees, we all had a sense of achievement. We feel it's our duty to protect and beautify our environment.

  • Writing Practice 1550 In your English class, your teacher shows you the following picture. Youre asked to describe the picture and explain how you understand it.play hopscotch

  • What is the topic of the picture? What does the picture intend to tell us?

  • Description of the pictureIn the past, children play hopscotchNowadays, children play computer gamesOutline of the passage

  • What the picture intends to say--In the past: good for health, make friends--Nowadays: bad for health, problem in communication

--Conclusion : Games children played in the past is good for their growth both in

  • In the picture we see a group of children playing hopscotch happily while a boy is sitting in front of his computer, fully absorbed in a game. This picture intends to show how children today and in the past spend their free time. One possible version

  • In the old days, there was no modern equipment such as TV sets or computers, so children kill time, playing games outdoors. With the development of science and technology, children are so attracted by computer games that they become addicted and stay in front of the screen all day long.

  • Unlike the kids who are playing hopscotch, which is a team game, the boy who tends to spend more time alone easily develops psychological problems such as a lack a sense of cooperation and communication skills. So in my opinion, modern science may not benefit people.

As everybody knows vocabulary is an important part of language, just like bricks in a building. One possible version

  • I usually memorize twenty new words a day and put them to use whenever possible . After class, I often listen to English programs on TV and on the radio. Besides, I've learned a lot from the Internet and other sources. Now, I'd like to make some suggestions on English teaching and learning in our school.

  • Firstly, we should be given more opportunities to use what weve learned in order to have a better mastery of it. Secondly, I hope our teachers can recommend more interesting books and magazines and give us more free time to read them. Finally, I suggest we have more English activities, such as English contests and festivals.Thank you for your attention.
