De’VIA Central Day 28 BANQUET (A) Meaning: Deaf-mute banquets were first established in the 19th century in France. What was the purpose for having a banquet? Can you visualize a banquet with Deaf ARTivists, Advocates, etc. Use your own imagination. Kathy Abraham Medium - ink and copic markers Description - round tables are in the middle where they can see each other and see the deaf speakers more visually as well as artworks are displayed with the representative standing along with the other tables around by each corner of the room displaying artworks . The room must be spacious for deaf viewing and socialization. Wines are provided once guests arrived at the admission, before entering in this room ( could be ballroom or meeting room etc) - Deaf DE'Via Artists attend the banquet and socialize before they start sitting at their tables and eating. The leaders on the stage start to give speech about artists' artworks, what these represent and what displayed and then start giving awards. Then the buffet starts on other side (opposite of the stage). #ASL28Challenge
