Dan & Davina

Hello, we are Dan and Davina. We met in 1996, while Dan was in the Marine Corps living in North Carolina, and Davina was a senior in High School in New Jersey. Dan was the best man in Davinas brother, Tims, wedding. We seemed to hit it off quite quickly and decided to go to college in the same town. We married in 1999. The past 18 years together have been full of ups and downs, but through it all we relied on each other to make it and have a great history of working together. Since being a couple we remain best friends and only feel like we are at our best when we are together. Our most important interaction comes at the end of the day when

we get to tell each other our plans, dreams, and what happened during the day. Our relationship is strong and stable. We show care and compassion to each other. Our time together is filled with joy and love. We support each other in all endeavors, whether together or as individuals, but mostly we like spending time together with our close friends. We are a great balance as a couple. We support each others strengths and weaknesses. Mostly we just enjoy each others company and really like to make jokes and laugh. We try not to be too serious all the time. We are a strong family unit that children can only enhance.Wedding Day

Meet Dan

Dan has a great capacity to love. He treats each person in his life as if they have a specific reason to be part of his life. He enjoys a kind joke and always looks for a way to make people smile. In return Dans smile is so genuine that it fills the room. Dan has an adventurous spirit that makes even the most boring activity fun. Dan is a Mr.

Fix-it. He is level headed and really thinks though problems. But my most favorite thing about Dan is his joy when he is playing with children. He has no problem making a silly face, talking in a funny voice, or offering a hug to cheer up a child. In this way children and animals are drawn to him and want to be around him.

Davina taught me how to love deeply with great capacity and diversity. Davina is very passionate, loving, respectful, and loves me no matter what happens. Davina is my grounding force that encourages me to be a better godly man. Davina is excited to try new things and willing to help. Davina has a soft, warm, and calming spirit that can soothe any child. Davina is my sunshine, my comfort and my resting place.

Las Vegas Vacation

At the moment we do not have any children in our home, but we are licensed foster parents and always offer a safe place for children when they need a home.

Our Family

Our last placement arrived when she was three days old and stayed for 11 months. Even though she is not living with us now, we do visit her family often and are happy that we were able to become friends and a support system to her parents. We have made a commitment to love and keep safe any child that needs to stay in our home, no matter how short or long that stay is.

We have two mini schnauzers. Sabrina is eight years old and very friendly. She likes to run in the back yard and watch the squirrels play around. Piper is three years old and a little snuggler. Her favorite thing to do is give kisses and have her ears rubbed.

We believe that there is an added to joy to life when children are included. Looking back at our childhoods we are flooded with happy memories about the times we had with our families. All the holidays, vacations, summer breaks, and weekends were spent together as a family having fun and enjoying our time together. As we have become a larger family we have carried over some of these traditions, but look forward to creating even more with the inclusion of children

At this time we are fortunate to have several family members close to our home. Dans oldest sister, her husband, and two daughters live in Tampa. Also, within an hour of Tampa is Davinas mom. Its nice to be able to drive a short distance to get out of town and enjoy Floridas beaches, forests, and parks. Our family has been very supportive in our journey as foster parents. They treat all the children in our life as family and love that they are part of all family activities.

Nestled in a small area within Tampa, we found a lovely home with a large fenced in yard and swimming pool. Our home is big with several beds rooms and a large playroom. The back yard has nice big trees, room for a swing set, and playing tag. We are close to many great schools, walking distance to two parks, and a bike ride away from a recreation center. We enjoy the activities that living in a city offers.

Our Home

Dan likes to have down time by watching TV shows and movies, but he also enjoys repairing cars, swimming, scalloping, and activities at our church. Davina spends her downtime running in local races, crocheting, reading, and playing video games, while she watches Dans TV shows and movies.

Our Hobbies

Together we enjoy going to amusement parks, picnicking, family game nights, hanging out in the pool, and weekend get a ways to visit museums and historical sights. We do almost everything together.

We attend church weekly and are involved in several ministry teams. We have a strong relationship with God and share that relationship with our family and friends. We currently attend a United Methodist church, but we tend to lean a bit more towards non-denominational worship styles. We enjoy our time with our church family and see many of our friends throughout the week.

We both work for a large university in Tampa. Davina enjoys working in student health and teaches classes at night. Though she has already completed her Masters degree, Davina plans on continuing her education by taking one class per semester. Dan works as a maintenance and field technician. He completed his degree in Management Information Systems and will likely peruse a degree in ministry. Dan and I look forward to our time playing with and helping children with homework.
