andmastercard logo.Most of souvenir s have the same price but sometimes the same souvenirs have amore
expensivepriceiftheywrappedbetter.
ArtisansbakericecrackersanddollcakesonebyoneattheseshopsonNakamise-Dori.Mostshopshere
havequitealonghistory,anditisanidealplaceforpurchasingsometraditional.Japanesesnacksareaffordable,
tasty, and perfect as souvenirs. Also, they are perfect snacks for when you are walking around Asakusa.

TrainisthemaintransportinJapan.AstouristswepayattentiontotheJapanesehabitsinthetrain.Dur-
ing7days,wegoaroundTokyoandsurroundingareaswithtrain,theathmosphereinsidethetrainisveryquiet.

Activityofthepeopleinthetrainaresawtheirhandphone,readbooks,andspeakinalowvoice.Unlesstherail-
waylinetoDisneySeaorDisneyLand(DisneyResortLine).Theatmosphereinhetrainisrathernoisy. Theath-
mosphereinthetrainisrathernoisy.Theytalkedeachother.Thepassengersaremostlyfamilieswhowantsvaca-
tiontogetherandalsoforeignfrommanycountrieslikeChina,Indonesiaandothercountries.InTokyowenever

neseculture.Wecanseeattherestaurants,atshoppingcenter,oratcashier,theyalllineuporderlyandnoone
breaksthroughthequeue.Evenwhenthetrainstopped,theylinesupinandwaiteduntilallthepassengerscame
outthetrainthentheygotin.
Japanisadevelopcountrybutneverleavestheirtradition.Although,weknowJapanisalsofamousforits
advancedtechnologybuttheystronglyupholdthecultureinheritedfromtheirancestors.That’sthereasonwhy
littleofJapanesepeoplearefluentinEnglish.Theyareveryrespectfuloflocalcultureandpracticeintheirdailylife.
Theyalsoreallykeepthetrationalculturethathavebeeninheritedfromtheirancestors.Theevident,wecansee
theJapanesetraditionandartofJapaneseperformancesarestillexisteverywhere.
JapanalsofamouswithHarajukustyle.Thisstyleusuallyusedbyagroupofyoungpeopleandidenticalto
thehitofcolour/contrastcolourandexperimentalstyle.Usuallyagroupofyoungpeoplewhogather,hangout
anddiscusswithavarietyofuniqueandinterestingstyle.
Most Japanese religios are Shinto thenBuddhism and then followed by Protestant Christian aswell as
CatholicChristianandalittlefortheothersreligion.
WeknowthatJapanisacountrythathassophisticatedtechnologyespeciallyoftransportation.Japanhas
shinkasen that is a bullet train that can travel 200km/hour. This shinkanse has sprea across all of Japan from
HokkaidotoKyushuexceptOkinawa.

FireworksFestivalSumindaga
There is a fireworks festival held every summer in the middle of tokyo city – Fireworks Festivals
Sumindaga.FireworkspartyisheldalongtheriverSumida,alargeriverthatsplitsthecityoftokyo,inaskusaarea,

tokyoskytreetoryogoku.WecanwatchthehugefireworksshiningontheTokyoskybetweenskyscrapers.The
festivalisheldeverysummer,theendofJulyat19:00to20:30.
TheJapanesefireworkstechniqueisthebestintheworld."Starmine","Shikakemono","Pokamono",and
"Katamono" there are many types of fireworks in Japan. Especially "Warimono" is a big firework with lots of
Japanese techniques in it. Besides that, there are some unique fireworks, such as snails, fans, butterflies, fish,
shapesthatshowseasonstopopularshapes likeSmile,Anpan-manandPokemon.LatelyRepeatersof fireworks
thateruptcontinuouslyandincreasingly,theirshapeisconstantlychangingdependingonthevisualangle,itwillbe
greatfunasyouwalkaroundlookingforaplacetoseeitsperfectshape.
There are about 200 fireworks launched for the contest. 7 fireworks companies associated with the
SumidaRiver,and3firmsfirmswithagoodgradetotalthereare10companiesthatcompetewitheachother.We
asanaudienceassess their fireworks.Thesystem in thiscompetition to improve the improvementon Japanese
fireworkstechniques.Onsummerevenings,about1millionpeoplecometothe"FireworksFestivalontheSumida
River".

COMPANYVISIT(SHIN-KOTOINCINERATIONPLANT)
Influenceexertedontheenvirontmentbyhumanactivitieshasbecomeoneoftheglobal issues.Waste
Disposalispartofsuchanissue.Inoodertobringasolutiontotheissues,itisimportanttoreducewasteaslittleas
possibleandpromotetherecyclingofwasteasaresource.Wasteis,nonetheless,produced,whichmustbepro-
cessedinanadequatemanner.
Burningisanexcellentwayofprocessingwasteandrecyclingenergysncecombustiblewasteisburntina
hygienicmanner,reducingthevolumeto5%whileheatgeneratedservestogenerateelectricityforenergyrecy-
cling.Shin-kotoIncinerationPlantequiooedwiththesate-of-the-artairpollutionpreventivefacilitiesplaysanim-
portantroleofprocessingwasteproducedwithin23citiesinTokyo,enjoyingamuchlongerservicelifeasavalua-
blefinaldisposaksite.

ation drafting operation plans that correspond to seasonal changer and regional trends inwaste amounts.

perday),whilelarge-sizedwasteandbusiness-generatedwastearecharge.

incombustible,orlarge-sized).Combustiblewaste is loadedontocollectionvehicles(suchascompactiontypevehicle)oncollectionsites, from
whichitisdirectlytransferredtoanincinerationplant.
Incombustiblewaste istransferredtoeithertheChubo.IncombutibleWasteProcessingCenterortheKeihinjima
Island.IncombustibleWasteProcessingCenter.Sincebotharelocatedonthewaterfront,someCitiesestablished
landorboattransferstations,wherewasteisreloadedontocontainervehiclesorvesselsforrelayedtransfer.Such
relayedtransfercontributestoimprovedtransferefficiency,reducetrafficcongestion,andalleviationofairpolu-
tionduetoexhaust
Large-SizedwasteisdeliveredtotheLarg-SizedWastePulverizationProcessingFacility.Citiesthathaveatransfer
stationconductrelayedtransferbyreloadingitfromsmallercollectionvehiclesontolargervehicles.Suchrelayed
transfercontributestoimprovedtransferefficiency,reducedtrafficcongestion,andalleviationofairpollutiondue
toexhaust.
ProcessingCombustibleWaste
Combustiblewaste is incineratedat19 incinerationplants (asofDecember2016) ina safe, stable,andefficient
manner.Incinerationpreventsbacteria,vermnandfoulodor,andmaintainsasanitaryenvironment.Byincinerat-
ingwaste, itsvolumeisreducedtoapproximatelyone-twentieth.Byrecyclingapartofbottomashintocement
materials,andbymeltingitintoslag,theamountgoingtothelandfillisfurtherreduced.
