Nel 1989 le fibre ottiche sono il top dell’alta tecnologia: DGA brevetta e produce un

sistema rivoluzionario per l’illuminazione degli ambienti. I sistemi DGA fissano il nuovo

limite massimo della qualità della luce.

DGA was born, and its DNA is already clearly defined. In 1989 fiber optics are the

utmost of high technology:DGA patents and manufactures a revolutio-

nary system for lighting applications.DGA lighting systems reach and fix the

highest level in terms of light quality.

2001DGA è tra i pochi ad investire nella ricerca sui led: le difficoltà della tec-nologia portano molti altri produttori a desistere. Designing and manufacturing the best LED lighting fixtures requires a genetic aptitude: the DNA of a company is the result of its expe-rience, its know-how, and its way of doing things. Having been a good manufacturer of lamps is not enough to become an excellent manufacturer of LED lighting fixtures. The LED is a new way to conceive the light. It requires carefulness and creative talent, like the precision engineering. Like the most advanced hi-tech sectors, the LED forces to the research and to the continuous updating of the know-how. Besides all this, DGA adds two decisive features: the flexibility, to care about all customers’ requirements, and a maniac accuracy for every single detail. This is what creates the unique quality and the great reliability of a DGA product.

The patents and technologies by DGA are applied to many several sectors, always creating new kinds of LED fixtures.Thanks to its precision, its reliability and to its excellent LED light quality, DGA becomes a leader on a more demanding part of the market like, for example, display design and luxury retail.

2009È sempre dalla DGA che vengono al mondo le prime luci che coniugano Led e riflettori ottici. Il suo dna (tecnologia e design) le permette di rag-giungere risultati fotometrici e di prestazione mai visti prima. DGA è la prima a portare nei grandi ambienti la qualità della luce che era riservata solo alle vetrine dei gioiellieri più esclusivi.

It’s always DGA that manufactures for the first time fixtures which combine LED with optical reflectors. Its expertise, together with its design and a great production system, let DGA obtain excellent photometric and working performan-ces. DGA has been the first company to apply to large spaces the high light quality which was normally intended to light up only some exclusive jewellery showcases.

The plan without compromises is possible thanks to a Design Cen-tre specialised in the design of precision engineering, and provided with excellent manufacturing tools. THE EXPERIMENTThe observer had to match a target colour against another colour of the same range and identify which one of these hues corresponded to the reference colour.Each difference between the target colour and the sample colour detected as identical was plotted in the 1931 CIE chromaticity colour space as a point. Joining all these points, an ellipse comes out.Then the scientist asked each subject to repeat the experiment on 25 different target colours. As a result, he obtained 25 ellipses, the so called “MacAdam Ellipses”.Each MacAdam ellipse can be divided into 7 steps called “standard deviation of colour matching” (SDCM).For the average human eye, colour changes within the first 3 MacA-dam steps are undetectable.DGA offers 1 MacAdam Step selection for 3000K colour temperatu-re, ensuring the highest quality and chromatic homogeneity of light sources available in the market.

DGA buys only Aluminum and Stainless Steel type AISI 316L, provided with quality and guarantee certificates, with a stable and time-resistant percentage of the components and of the alloy compounds. Being able to control the stability of the raw material means, for instance, being sure that the aluminum heat sink maintains the same quality and thermal stability in all the different production lots. All the vital mechanical parts of the DGA fixtures are entirely manufactured inside the company. In this way DGA ensures an always constant quality for every lot of production.

The quality of DGA mechanical workings can be recognised even by touching them. The surface of the metallic components indicates the carefulness in the manufacture. Once it is dug from the solid aluminum bar with numerically controlled machines, the component is first subjected to a buffing treatment, to be polished or satinised. It is then dipped into galvanising baths which oxidise the surface and give it hardness and weather resistance.

La passivazione è un trattamento importantissimo perché permette di riportare, dopo la lavorazione, un manufatto in acciaio alle sue caratteristiche origina-rie di inossidabilità e quindi di allungarne la vita. L'immersione in bagni passivanti permette anche di rimuovere le eventuali tracce di inquinanti ferrosi dovute alle lavorazioni meccaniche effettuate in officina. Tali tracce, se non eliminate, arrugginiscono sulla superficie dell'acciaio. Per questo il trattamento di passi-vazione viene spesso detto "decontaminazione”. La superficie esposta all'ambiente corrosivo è ricoperta da uno strato di film passivo, costituito dall'ossido di Cromo, che a sua volta è parte integrante della lega stessa. Questo film si forma rapidamente anche in modo naturale ad opera dell’ossigeno atmosfe-rico, ma è assai sensibile ai contaminanti. I residui metallici derivanti dai trattamenti di produzione/fabbricazione, sporco, polveri, possono pregiudicare la sua omogeneità e resistenza e farne quindi decadere le proprietà. Per questo è fondamentale una passivazione controllata attraverso processi chimici.

The passivation is a very significant treatment since it allows to bring back, after the working, a steel metalwork to its original inoxidability and therefore to extend its life. The dipping into passivating baths allows removing eventual traces of iron pollutants due to previous workings. These traces, if not eli-minated, rust on the surface of the stainless steel. That is why passivation treatment is often called “decontamination”. The surface exposed to corrosive environment is covered by a layer of passive film that is simply made up with Chrome oxide, which in turn constitutes integrant part of the alloy. Although that film forms and reforms quickly and naturally due to the work of atmospheric oxygen, it is very sensitive to contaminants (metallic residuals due to production/manufacturing treatments, dirty, dusts, etc.) to the point that its homogeneity and resistance may be compromised and thus its technological features decay. That is why it is fundamental to make a passivation which is controlled by chemical procedures.

Energy and non-renewable resources are precious and fundamental for our future. For producing the LED there is less consumption of these resources than for the production of the other lighting sources. LEDs have a minimum impact on the environment.

LED fixtures are much more efficient than others. For the same light emission, they consume up to 90% less than the incandescent ones. LED means less pollution and less waste of money.

UV rays do not give light, and they can even damage most part of the materials and life forms. The tradi-tional lamps waste much of the absorbed energy to produce UV rays. LED fixtures do not emit UV rays. They consume less energy and do not hurt.

Non riscalda l’ambienteIt does not heat the environmentLe lampade ad incandescenza sono meno efficien-ti perché trasformano molta dell’energia assorbita in calore. The incandescent lamps are less efficient because they turn much of the absorbed energy into heat. Besi-des a higher consumption, they heat the environment: in air-conditioned environments this is expensive, an-noying and even dangerous. LEDs produce only what you need: light, but not heat.

l’Indice di Resa Cromatica ci permette di capire quanto una luce rispetti la qualità del colore degli oggetti che illumina. The Colour Rendering Index lets us understand how a light source is able to respect the colour quality of the objects it lights up. Incandescent lamps, for instance, are not appropriate to light up the blue colour without altering it. A sapphire, a cake, a dress, your favourite painting: LEDs let us see at best all the colours we love. All DGA products identified with the symbol “HI CRI” offer an excellent colour rendering with CRI ≥ 95.This means that the colour rendering is perfect for a wide range of food, flowers, clothes, and in general for other display lighting applications. In this cases the rendering of red and other colours can be naturally and vividly enhanced.The ability to reproduce red is the key for an accurate rendering of colours, as colour red can often be found mixed into many processed colours.

Indice di resa cromatica Colour Rendering IndexLL’indice di resa cromatica generale Ra o Color Rendering Index (CRI) ci dice in che modo una sorgente è in grado di ripro-durre il colore di un oggetto da essa illuminato. Illuminando un oggetto colorato (rosso per esempio) con due sorgenti diverse, caratterizzate da un CRI differente, si può notare come il colore apparirà differente a seconda della sorgente che lo illumina.Il colore con cui ci appare un oggetto, che non emette luce propria, dipende sia dal suo modo di riflettere la luce (cioè da quali lunghezze d’onda riflette maggiormente), sia dalla luce che lo illumina (cioè dalla composizione spettrale di quest’ultima). In generale, un indice pari all’85-100% indica un’ottima resa cromatica. Essa è considerata buona per valori del 70-85% e discreta per valori del 50-70%.La norma UNI 10380 suddivide l’insieme dei possibili valori dell’indice di resa cromatica in cinque gruppi e fornisce anche indi-cazioni su quale CRI utilizzare a seconda degli ambienti da illuminare:

The Ra general colour rendering index, or simply Colour Rendering Index (CRI), tells us how a light source is able to reproduce the colour of an object illuminated by that source. By lighting up a coloured object (red for instance) with two different light sources, where each source is characterized by a different CRI, it is evident that the colour appearance will change according to which light source it is lighting up.

The colour appearance of an object, that does not emit its own light, depends both on the way it reflects the light (that is, on which wavelengths are the most reflected), and on the light that illuminates it (that is, on the spectral composition of the light itself).Generally speaking, an index of 85-100% indicates an excellent colour rendering. The rendering is good from 70-85%, and fair with values from 50-70%.The norm UNI 10380 divide into 5 groups the possible values of the colour rendering index. This norm gives also indications about the value of CRI that has to be used according to the different environments to illuminate:

Può accadere che, anche se complessivamente il suo valore è buono, per qualche particolare lunghezza d’onda la resa cromatica non sia buona, cioè che il comportamento della sorgente in esame si discosti in modo rilevante da quello della sorgente campione solo per tale lunghezza d’onda: in pratica può accadere che, mentre complessivamente Ra abbia un valore elevato, ci sia qualche Ri con valore non elevato.

DGA è in grado di offrire una soluzione d’illuminazione con un indice di resa cromatica eccellente in tutti i valori Ri, con particolare attenzione sull’R9=97, che significa un’eccellente resa del rosso.

The colour rendering index is the result of the average of 15 values, each one associated to different wavelengths. It can happen that, even if the general value is good, the colour rendering is not particularly good for some wavelengths. In other words it happens that, while Ra has a globally good value, there are some Ri with low values.

DGA is able to propose lighting solutions with an excellent colour rendering index for all the values of Ri , with particular attention to R9=97, which means an excellent reproduction of the colour red.

alBusalBus is a floor luminaire entirely made of matt anodized aluminum, available in three standard configurations: 2, 4 or 6 x 7W led spoTliGHTs.

all the spotlights can be adjusted independently at 360°.

in the lower part of the lamp there is a bay for the drivers, designed to dim each spotlight separate-ly; the bay can be easily opened and it permits the replacement of the drivers in case of problems.

The heavy base of the lamp guarantees a very good stability of the stem.

alBus has been designed and built to light up museums or exhibition areas; the fixture can be placed in the middle of a room and it is possible to light several areas adjusting the spotlights in various directions.

it is possible to customise the product on the base of specific lighting purposes, for example: the lamp can have a higher number of spots or led spots of different powers (e.g. 3W or 6W [3x2W]); for special configurations a M.o.q. is required.

alBus è una lampada da terra interamente realiz-zata in alluminio satinato e anodizzato, disponibile in tre configurazioni standard: con 2, 4 o 6 spoT led da 7W.

Tutti i faretti led installati sono orientabili a 360° sin-golarmente.

nella parte inferiore della piantana è collocato il vano alimentatori, dal quale è possibile dimmerare tutti i faretti singolarmente e indipendentemente l’uno dall’altro; il vano alimentatori è ispezionabile ed è possibile sostituire un alimentatore in caso di mal-funzionamento.

la base appesantita della piantana garantisce una perfetta stabilità della struttura, anche in caso di urti accidentali di lieve entità.

la piantana alBus è stata progettata e realizzata per illuminazioni di ambienti museali o espositivi; l’apparecchio può essere collocato (in modo non invasivo) al centro di un ambiente dal quale è possi-bile illuminare più zone contemporaneamente orien-tando i faretti.

È possibile richiedere una personalizzazione dell’ap-parecchio in base a esigenze d’illuminazione speci-fiche, come ad esempio: maggior numero di spoT o installazione di spoT led di diversa potenza (3W o 6W[3x2W]); per configurazioni personalizzate sarà richiesto un M.o.q.
