Risk Management of the CompanyThe Company has a sound systematic Risk Management process which, from the board of directors to floor level employees involves effectively and efficiently in setting strategies to identify potential events that may affect the Company and to manage risk to be within comfort zone.
Risk Management Frame Work of the companyTo achieve the optimum trade-off between risks and returns, the Company implements the Risk Management frame work with continuous improvement.
Safety PerformanceThe Company already is one of the safest players in Sri Lankan heavy engineering sector. The safety of employees, subcontractors, and communities has long been a top priority of the Company. We believe, safe workplace means a better quality of life and better morale for employees to achieve organisational targets. Reflecting that emphasis, we have made significant progress in improving our safety performance, resulting remarkable reduction in both Accident Severity Rates (ASR) and Accident Frequency Rate (AFR) in the last year.
The Company has a unique Health & Safety plan for every heavy engineering project, which identifies the risk comprehensively with particular project and precautionary steps that needs to be taken. It identifies all safety procedures needs to be implemented during the project.
All employees including subcontractors should participate for safety orientation program before commencement of project. Apart from that, engineers in charge of respective areas should educate their subordinates at the daily toolbox meetings about the risks associated in day-to-day activities. In addition to these programs, Company conducts special training programs to enhance employees’ safety knowledge from time to time in view of meeting the statuary and regularity requirements as well as the work site’srequirements.
Safety EducationThe Company is carrying out continuous safety awareness programs for every level of employees including sub-contractor employees resulting reduction of the Man-hours lost.
Fire DrillCompanywide fire drill is exercised during the year mainly focusing the rescue plan during a firebreak.
