OUR MISSION STATEMENT AND PURPOSE

To provide an opportunity for women to meet regularly in order to build their businesses through

networking and to foster the development of women in the community through social networking

and scholarship opportunities. We shall provide social and educational meetings, which will focus

on business opportunities and development for women.

Ok – I know it’s corny, but I just saw Beauty and the Beast and loved it!! And it got your attention, right?

The point is, please bring guests to our next meeting! I loved seeing the guests in March, but we need

more! Let’s try to grow our group into something exceptional that everyone in the county wants to be a

part of!

I hope you all enjoyed the meeting at Mountain Springs. I would love for some of you to email me your

critique of the event, did you like the venue, did you like the food, did you like the program?? There are

some things in the works to do something like this again, so I would like some feedback. It seemed eve-

ryone (especially the Jans table) had a great time! If you want to share how you used what you imple-

mented what you learned at the meeting, you can do that at the NEXT meeting. I will be encouraging

people to do that.

Also, we still have a few spots left for the Expo. I hope you have all your raffle tickets sold! Who doesn’t

want to go to Napa and ride the train, have a balloon ride, eat a great dinner!? Sounds awesome to me.

The Expo is also about promoting our businesses. Quite a few of us do not have a brick and mortar

store, so these kinds of events are what we use to reach the public. Invite all your friends and neighbors,

family, coworkers, everyone you know – men and women! Everyone is welcome.

Our next meeting will be a fun one! We finally get to hear Diana Cooper talk to us about business plans!

Do you have one? Do you think you don’t need one? Think again…. Come hear what she has to say.

We will also be giving our prize for the member who brought the most guests for the first quarter. If you

want to win next quarter, start now!!

I will see you all on April 19th for our General Meeting. In the meantime, if anyone needs help inviting

guests or telling people about our group, please call me, text me, email me. I’m here for you!!

Give thanks to another member of the network for services or products they have provided to you.

Thank you, Rebecca Burton, Burton’s Mother Lode

Appliance, for excellent service for my lifelong friend

who just bought a new home and is completely remod-

eling her kitchen. Becki educated her on pros and cons

of appliances and the prices were more than competi-

tive!! My friend is excited to get her new appliances.

Sally Dunn, Century 21 Wildwood Properties

Once again, Barbara Heuser, Heuser’s Furniture, has

provided excellent service and pricing on my sister’s

BULLETIN BRIEFS AND BUSINESS TIPS

Tell us what is happening in your business or share a professional tip or success story.

We all face scheduling challenges in our business, with one of the most important being keeping on track with clients needs & due dates. Using a calendar scheduling system (I use Google Calendars Task List) and schedule clients needs from the end date up to today. Include notes to remind them of when/what they must do, reminder of upcoming due dates, tasks you promise to complete, research and just simply checking back with a client after first contact.

It is the easiest way I have found to keep up with my clients and make sure nothing falls through the cracks….

My name is Claudia Puccinelli and I am a retired teacher. I have lived in the county since 1976 when I moved here to take my first job as a special education teacher at Soulsbyville School. Back then Tuolumne County was a hard place for a single woman and it was a very hard adjustment moving here from Orange County. Luckily I met wonderful people and ended up staying. In 1986 I met my husband and started scuba diving and traveling the world.

I never felt very artistic, but I loved clothes and putting tex-tures and colors together and eventually got up my nerve to start making jewelry. My teacher was Native American and she taught me the art of how to put beads together. Now I work out of my home and joyfully design and create jewelry. I love natural stones, metals, and glass beads of every color,

shape, and size. The name of my business, Stoned Beads, comes from my love of the beauty of natural stones. If you want something unique, let me know and I can make it! Making jewelry is a passion, not a job.

One of the things I love about this county is that people move here for a better quality of life. Maybe I am wrong, but I know I did not want to live in a big city. I love the mountains and the beauty all around where I live in Twain Harte. I love being able to drive a few minutes away to go on a lovely hike. I like that peo-

My understanding and passion for helping others and the importance of improving and making a difference in ones community started at a young age. From the beginning, my life was significantly and positively impacted by individuals who made it their lives work to make a difference for their fel-low human. My parents immigrated to the United States from Argentina when I was a toddler. Not speaking the language and not knowing anyone in the United States, my family moved into a shelter for several months. There, my father was assisted in locating employment and my family was helped in obtaining permanent housing. I graduated high school, with honors, in 1996. Thanks to the help of selfless individuals, my parents sacrifices and my own hard work and dedication, I was the first per-son in my family to graduate from college. I worked in the business world for several years and, though I enjoyed it and was successful, I was not fulfilled. I wanted to make a direct impact in my community. I made a significant career change and went into social work.

For six years I worked for Tuolumne County Child Welfare Services as a social worker and subse-quently, a supervisor. With this employment, I worked with families and children undergoing a tre-mendous amount of stress and trauma. These families faced challenges including poverty, domestic violence, physical, emotional and sexual abuse, cognitive disabilities and substance abuse. Doing this work, I came to find that many of our children and their families could benefit from Applied Behav-ior Analysis (ABA) services. ABA is an applied science devoted to developing procedures which will produce measurable changes in behavior of social significance. However, living in a small rural county, resources and services are often limited. At the time (and as of the writing of this letter), there are no Board Certified Behavior Analyst providing services in Tuolumne County. I began taking courses in March, 2015 and in June, 2015, I decided to leave my employment with the County to pur-sue a Master of Arts degree in Behavior Analysis, with a goal of bringing these services to at risk youth in our community.

I am currently enrolled in the Florida Institute of Technology Master's Hybrid Program. This pro-gram combines the flexibility of online classes with hands on experience through a 750 hour supervised internship, completed over the course of one year. I have completed the first year of the two year program and have excelled academically, consistently holding a 4.0 grade point aver-age. In April, 2016, I will begin my internship through the Tucci Learning Center in San Jose, California. My expected graduation date is May, 2017. I will graduate with a Masters degree in Behavior Analysis and will then take the Board exams to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

My volunteer experience in Tuolumne County includes the following: Little League coach (2013-2015), Den Leader with the Boy Scouts of America, Pack 71 (2013-Present) and Spanish teacher at Sierra Waldorf School (2015-Present). I also served as a member of Prevent Child Abuse Tuolumne County (PCATC) (2013-2015). I have roots in my community and want to see our youth and families have the best opportunities to succeed. Upon completion of my certification, I plan on bringing Behav-ior Analysis services to vulnerable youth in our community.
