McDade’s Jumpstart on College Courses!

McDade High School is ready to provide any student the opportunity to get a headstart on college. We offer senior level courses that are dual credit for college courses. In partnership with Austin Community College and Ranger College, we are happy to offer many free courses that will count as credit for college. These courses are include: English, math, music, and government/history courses. This jumpstart on college is a great opportunity for success at a higher level of learning, while still in the supervision of parents and community.

Understanding the Admission Process to College or a Work Training Program:

Come to parent/student information nights.

Go on campus tours, take virtual tours, go to job fairs, and help with applications to these organizations.

Resume writing assistance, mentoring with adults/staff, and planning resources.

Employment Skills with Career and Technology Education (CTE) FocusMcDade ISD is proud to offer many routes for exposure to job types for our students’ future plans. Numerous career and technology pathways are being offered at this time. We have a developing agriculture department leading with way in animal science, plant science and facility design/management. Our business pathway has another highly successful course offering cluster. Business exposure is available in marketing, advertising, accounting, finance, management, business English and technology applications for all students at McDade High School.

CTE Objectives:

In today’s current employment opportunities, employers are looking for problem solving skilled labor with hands on experience. McDade is proud to offer the pathway for students to empower themselves with these marketable attributes to compete in the workforce of the future.

At McDade ISD, we believe in providing all our students the opportunity to succeed in every aspect of their lives and future endeavours. Our overall goal is to provide the educational foundation for college readiness, career path exposure, or military preparedness. We want all students to be able to obtain a successful and fulfilling life as a productive citizen. Through the teamwork of our students, parents, staff, administration, school board and community, our graduates strive for postsecondary readiness to face any challenge that may arise in and outside of the school environment.
