What is it? – Its even closer than close up shot.Why used? – To see fine detail in characters facial expressions.
Close Up
What is it? – It’s a clear shot of somebody’s face.Why used? – To have an idea on how the person is feeling or looking like.
Mid Shot
What is it? – It’s a shot of a persons torso their head.Why used? – Used in programmes and films. It is a shot of people having conversations.
Long Shot
What is it? – To be able to see from their head to feet.Why used? – To give us a faint idea on what the person looks like.
Extreme Long Shot
What is it? - An extreme long shot can be a rolling picture, it sets the scene.Why used? - It tells us where the scene is going to be.
High Angle Shot
What is it? - It is a shot taken from a high point.Why used? - It makes an object look smaller.
Low Angle Shot
What is it? – It is a picture took from a low point.Why used? – It makes an object look bigger or more powerful.
POV Shot
What is it? – It’s a shot from somebody's point of view.Why used? - To show us what the character is looking at.
