Digipak Design

To start our digipak designing, we sorted through our still images to find those, which we felt would work as a front cover.

We chose two images, which we had taken on the edge of our main location set. This was to capture realism to the band members as this is where they predominately play.

The first image is jokey, which we felt was great at capturing the bands emotions. However in the end we realized the second image was more appropriate at selling their album, as they look serious.

After a mutual decision about using image 2 as our front cover image, we opened the image up in Photoshop to ensure our image was in pristine condition. This included modifying some slight blemishes:

Additionally, the brightness of our final image was increased, and we increased the focus to the image making

our subjects stand out further against the bright background. This is something we found essential, as the band image is what will draw our audience into this CD.

Although after these changes our before an after may not appear different, our final image up-close is able to show precision and crisp quality. Having now finalized the image we want to show on the front cover of our digipak, the next step is the text. We need to decide which fonts would suit our image the most while also incorporating the style of music of the band, and the bands image.
