Developing my Digipak

This is a mock up of my Digipak I created. There are various things I am unhappy with in this Digipak such as the lack of actors to be the band and the backgrounds used.

I am also unsatisfied with the front cover due to the fact it’s hard tot ell there are two band members and the overlapping images could become difficult for an audience to decipher.

Another issue in the promotional offer which I have placed on the inside panel when it needs to be on the cover due to this being the unique selling point of the album itself.

After looking at the band Bombay Bicycle Club I was inspired to use pastel colours as this is the colour scheme they went for and it looked extremely indie and worked very effectively with their album art work. I feel this is an improvement as I prefer the pastel colours however, I feel they don’t match up with my other panels. I also at this point haven't decided on my front panel which is why it blank at this point. I am currently considering placing the plasticine men on the cover.

Although I liked the colours used I felt it made the Digipak look rather amateur therefore I wanted to add an effect to it to heighten the indie aspects. I prefer how the Digipak looks with this effect however, I feel it doesn't’t match up well with my other panels.

As for my cover I’ve decided to use the plasticine men as it ties into the promotional offer and also looks intriguing to the audience. This also allows the bands creativity to be identified by the audience signalling they are an indie band and have a creative style of music.

I also want to change the bottom left panel as I feel since the band weren’t photographed together they look out of place and don’t fit together well therefore I wish to replace this with a silhouette image of the band. This is a risk as it limits the bands image shown, however I will still have 2 band members featured on the upper panels.
