Digital Assessments Using Google Docs
1. Open Google Chrome and navigate to: http://docs.somervilleschools.org
2. Click the red “Create” button in the upper left hand corner.

3. Choose “Forms” from the dropdown menu.

4. Choose a title and a theme for your assessments.
5. In the “Question Title” field enter the text of your question.
6. In the “Help Text” field enter any directions for the question or leave it blank. 7. For “Question Type” choose multiple-choice if you want it automatically graded;
however, you can also choose “Text” or “Paragraph Text” if you want an open-ended student response question which you will have to grade manually.
8. Click “Done” when you are done creating the question.

9. Click “Add Item” when you are ready to create the next question.
10. When you are done make sure all three checkboxes under form settings are selected.
11. When you are ready to share, click send form and distribute to your students. Please
note: If you are using the auto-grading script please take your assessment first to serve as the answer key.

Grading Using Flubaroo 1. Open the response spreadsheet associated with your assessment.
2. Choose insert from the menu at the top and select script.
3. In the search box type Flubaroo.

4. Under Flubaroo click install.
5. After you install, choose Flubaroo from the menu and select grade assignment.
6. Choose what point each question will have. Select Continue.

7. Choose which submission will serve as the answer key. Select Continue.
8. Click view grades. 9. You now will have a new tab at the bottom of the screen with all of the graded
student work.
