JobDescriptionThepurposeofthisroleistocommunicateGalway2020’sworkacrossdigitalchannels.Therolehastwokeyareasoffocus:socialmediaandwebdesign.Inadditiontomanagingtheorganisation’ssocialmediacalendarandoperatingsocialchannelsonanongoingbasis,theDigitalCommunicationsCoordinatoralsoleadsthedesignofGalway2020.ietoensureengaging,accessibleandconsistentdesignacrossthewebsite.ReportingtotheCommunicationsDirectorthisisacontractofdefinitedurationandisbasedinGalwaywithoccasionaltripsoverseas.KeyDuties&Responsibilities:

• Design,createandrolloutdigitalcampaignstoensureanengagingandconsistentuserexperience.

• Collaboratewithteamsacrosstheorganisationtointegratedigitalintocampaigns,initiativesandevents.

• ManageGalway2020officialsocialmediachannels,planning,creatingandpublishingengagingsocialcontentandsocialadvertisingonadailybasis.

• Maintaintheorganisation'ssocialmediacontentcalendarincollaborationwiththeCommunicationsDirector.

• Deviseandimplementasocialmediastrategyandtoneofvoice.• Betheleadvisualdesignerforonlineinitiativestoensurearichandconsistent

userexperience.• Reportonamonthlybasisagainstsocialmediatargets.• Captureandeditcontent,includingphotographyandvideo.• Supporttheplanning,writing,productionandpromotionofhighqualitydigital

content.• Researchandproposecreativeandinnovativewaystoadvancesocialmedia,web

designanddigitalstorytellinginlinewithGalway2020goals.• Plan,manageandoverseethedeliveryofwebdevelopmentprojectsin

collaborationwithCommunicationsDirectorandexternalagency.• Gatherrequirementsforallnewpiecesofwebsitedesignandfunctionality.

• Proactivelymanagechangesinprojectscope,identifypotentialproblemsandkeepprojectstakeholdersinformed.

• Responsiblestewardshipofthewebdevelopmentandsocialmediabudgetstodeliverresultsandbestvalueformoney.

Otherdutiesasmayberequired.PersonSpecification–Essentialrequirements:Qualifications:

• Thirdlevelqualificationinarelatedfieldand/orsignificantdigitalcommunicationsexperience.

Experience:• Aproventrackrecordofdrivingsuccessfulmultimediaandsocialmediaprojects.• Extensiveknowledgeofonlinetechnologiesandtheonlinecommunity.• Excellentknowledgeofarangeofapplicationsandsoftwareincludingsocial

mediaplatforms,contentmanagementsystems,image-editingsoftware,designapplicationsetc.

• Strongabilitytoprioritiseandmultitask.• Proventrackrecordindigitalprojectmanagementanddelivery–specificallyin

developinghigh-performing,publicfacingwebsites.• Excellentknowledgeofwebusability,reportingandanalysis,andstrongtechnical

knowledge

Skills:

• Abilitytosetprioritiesandmeetdeadlines• Abilitytoworkaspartofateamtodeliversharedobjectivesinacollaborative

manner.• Abilitytoshareandpassonskillstoothercolleagues
