WHAT IS LIBRARY? A library is somewhere that you can find all kinds of books. Some people like to go to a library to study. It is always quiet in a library. A building or room containing collections of books, periodicals, and sometimes films and recorded music for use or borrowing by the public or the members of an institution. 5. WHAT IS DIGITAL LIBRARY? Definition:- A digital library is a collection of documents in organized electronic form, available on the Internet or on CD-ROM (compact-disk read-only memory) disks. Depending on the specific library, a user may be able to access magazine articles, books, papers, images, sound files, and videos. An electronic library is a library in which collections are stored in electronic media formats and accessible via computers. The electronic content may be stored locally, or accessed remotely via computer networks. An electronic library is a type of information retrieval system. 6. INTRODUCTION Digital libraries extend and integrate approaches adopted in traditional libraries, as well as in distributed information systems, to yield high-end information systems, services, and institutions. 7.
