Throughout this school year senior Madelyn Land-graf will be writing a blog to give basketball fans an inside look at what is going on with the Women’s Basketball team and herself as a student-athlete.

My fellow Falcon Fans,

On behalf of the CUW Women’s Basketball pro-gram we would like to say Happy Holidays! As the semester began to wind down and many of our stress levels began to rise, I can definitely say that our team is happy we are finally on winter break. The best thing about break is the fact that we get to focus not only on basketball, but also becoming closer as a family.

With that being said, the men and women’s teams had the amazing opportunity of traveling to Puerto Rico from December 18-23. We played two games while we were in Puerto Rico and ended with a 1-1 record, with the win coming against the University of New England who was ranked 17th in the country!

Although the trip was looked at as a business trip, we also had some time to relax and sight see. We had the chance to tour Old San Juan, as well as the El Yunque Rainforest. Overall, the whole trip was extremely eye opening and made many of us feel very blessed with what we have at CUW.

Once we arrived back in Wisconsin, most of the team went straight home to enjoy the couple days we had off for Christmas with their fami-lies. Now we are back at school and continuously working hard day-in and day-out to become bet-ter, as a team and individually. I know many of us are happy with our record, but we are definitely not satisfied with the level we are playing at.

We have the bar set high and we know what we need to achieve to reach those expectations. We have an extremely jammed packed January with a total of 10 games on the schedule, so we must remained focused and always remember our goal of a conference championship!

Thank you for your unconditional support and we hope to see you at our games!
