Mounts, the “Backbone” of Digital Signage

Premier Mounts has developed a wide selection of innovative products to support digital signage displays. Mounts, carts and stands provide the crucial “backbone” for all A/V installations ranging from large video walls to point-of-sale displays, trade show signage and school campus information systems.

Too often, the importance of mounts is underestimated in the design and implementation of digital signage and A/V projects. The fact is, equipment mounting is one of the most unpredictable variables of A/V systems integration.

With over 35 years of experience designing and manufacturing mounts, Premier Mounts has worked closely with display manufacturers, systems integrators and installers to provide mounting products and “know-how” for many challenging digital signage projects.

Recent projects include one of the largest public A/V installations in the U.S., the McCarran International Airport 10x10-screen HD video wall in Las Vegas. Each video wall frame has a scissor mount with fine-tune leveling adjustments, making it substantially easier for the installer to set up and service displays within this giant video wall matrix.

Other applications include modular video wall frames that can be arranged into a variety of mobile video walls for all major brands of thin-bezel displays. Previous digital signage projects include the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County in Ohio, the Planet Hollywood Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Rock Bar on the Las Vegas Strip, and the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

The ultimate Digital Signage DisplayA video wall was installed at Imaging Advantage in Phoenix, Arizona using Premier Mounts’ LMV mounts. The 4x4 matrix was installed in the reception area for an eye-catching digital signage application. Using 46“ NEC displays, Premier Mounts worked closely with the display manufacturer, A/V systems integrator and the architect to complete this project successfully.

Mobile Digital Signage Video Wall A modular video wall frame that can be arranged in a variety of different mobile video walls. They are currently available off-the-shelf for Samsung® and NEC thin-bezel displays. Other model-specific frames are available for Panasonic® and Orion®. The MVW46 is typically used at trade shows for digital signage. NEC used MVW46s above their DSE 2010 and InfoComm® 2010 trade show booths instead of traditional company signage.

FTP projector mount for digital signage Projector mounts are commonly used for projecting images onto a wall or ceiling-mounted projection screen. EyeClick, a digital signage software provider, used Premier Mounts’ FTP projector mounts to create an interactive floor projection application for a fast food restaurant to entertain children.

Premier Mounts’ custom design engineers created a custom ceiling mount bracket that utilized two FTP projector mounts to hold and point two BenQ SP870 projectors towards the floor. The FTP projector mount was chosen for its fine-tune, post-installation adjustments, which include independent pitch, roll, and yaw controls. The custom projector mounts, combined with EyeClick’s software and sensors and BenQ’s projectors, helped create an amazing interactive playground for children at the restaurant.

Kiosk for digital signageCustom kiosk displays may be freestanding displays or mounted in or on a wall. They can be designed to fit most flat-panel displays and are available in a variety of colors. Even though many LED modules for large video wall displays are designed to connect to each other, Premier Mounts’ mounting frames provide a much sturdier mounting structure for large video walls.

Premier Mounts’ mounting frames are typically custom designed for each product. Common features include open space for cable routing, easy pre-installation to the primary mounting surface, which prevents damage to the LED module during construction, and easy attachment of LED modules to the mounting frame.

McCarran International Airport, along with Samsung and Alliance Airport Advertising, enlisted the help of Premier Mounts with a custom install of the largest panoramic video wall in a U.S. airport. The 100-screen video wall, measuring 33 feet by 19 feet, was installed at McCarran’s D Concourse rotunda. Using custom design and manufacturing, Premier Mounts fabricated a custom, model-specific version of the LMV to accommodate the video wall matrix at McCarran. Expertise and superior customer service were also factors that contributed to the decision to include Premier Mounts in this collaboration between Samsung, Alliance, and McCarran to successfully complete the undertaking of this ambitious project.

The LMV has a unique spring activated automatic scissor extension feature that makes it easy to install and remove displays, regardless of their position on a video wall. Three point fine-tune adjustments ensure seamless display alignment and leveling and a 9 in. pull out feature allows for full display serviceability.
