SUMMARY

Raj Malhotra and Simran are non resident Indians living in london meet on a trip to Europe. After some initial misadventures, they fall in love.  The battle begins to win over two traditional families.

The entire setting of DDLJ is very simplistic, which brings out that special "oomph" in their romance.

In many ways a totally Western film, it is yet completely un-Western, and absolutely full of energy.

The plot is predictable, almost pedestrian--certainly not what you'd call "never done before," and yet I found myself completely absorbed in the story, and rooting for the main characters.

The Indian who keeps "Indian culture" even in his home in foreign land

Jatin-Lalit's songs are very attractive. "Tujhe Dekha Tho", "Ruk Ja O Dil Deewane", and "Mere Khwabon Mein" are the best in the movie. "Mere Khwabon Mein" is especially choreographed very well.

After a run of more than 20 years, the Bollywood film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge - known to fans as DDLJ - has had its final screening at a cinema in Mumbai. It's one of the most successful Indian films of all time, grossing millions not just in India but around the world.
