APRIL – JUNE 2010

Day 1

Let us all pray that the Easter ‘season’ will inspire people to look afresh at their lives.

Pray for Bishop Ng Moon Hing, that God will sustain him in his ministry giving him and good heath and safe travel as he travels around the diocese, his wife Ding Siew Lan as she inspires and encourages the women to serve and their children in their studies.

The Archbishop The Most Rev Dr. John Chew for travel mercies as he oversees the work of the Province of South East Asia. Pray that Province will nurture the neigbouring countries to establish dioceses.

Our Nation -Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agung; The Prime Minister & Ministers, Chief Ministers of the states; pray for our respective state and local council leaders. Pray that very citizen will understand his right to vote and exercise it. Grace and strength for all who hold public office, and a spirit of service, commitment to justice, and an honouring of truth in public office.

Day 2

Assistant Bishops, Archdeacons and their spouses: Assistant Bishop Dr S Batumalai & Elizabeth (Lower Central) Assistant Bishop Andrew Phang & Esther (Upper North), Archdeacon Charles Samuel & Alice (Eastern). Archdeacon Eddie Ong & Dss Ruth Ong (Upper Central), Archdeacon Steven Abbarow and Ann (Lower North), & Archdeacon Edward John & Selvi (Southern); uphold their families and loved ones.

Pray for the Diocesan Missioners, Canon John Ganapathy and Rev David Rajiah as they move around the diocese to motivate and help establish new churches in new areas. Pray for their wife and children that God will provide for all their needs. Pray for the development of the Upper North Archdeaconry, Eastern Archdeaconry and the Southern Archdeaconry that more churches will be planted in these regions

Pray for the forthcoming training programmes to train the congregation to share the gospel in Karak, Ldg Geddes, Segamat and Temerloh.

Day 3

Pray for our Diocesan Officers: Diocesan Secretary-Mr. David Joseph, Diocesan Treasure-Mr. Kingsley Yuen, Diocesan Chancellor- Mr. Andrew Khoo, and Diocesan Registrar- Mr. D Rajasingam. Pray that they will be blessed with wisdom to assist the Bishop in leading the Diocese. Uphold their families and loved ones in prayer. Also pray for Bishop’s Chaplain-Rev Fred David and Guest Relations Officer-Mr. James Chee.

Pray for the Standing Committee members as they share in the decision making policies of the Diocese. Pray that the committee will continue to be transparent, accountable, compassion and good steward of all that God has entrusted to the Diocese.

Pray for purchase of a building to house the Diocesan Office at Taman Ampang Hilir, Ampang, the completion of the Rumah Bishop in Ampang and the completion of the Jalan Tengah project by 2012.

Day 4

St. Mary’s Cathedral Pray for the Bishop Moon Hing, Very Rev. Jason Selvaraj, Rev. Davis Sigamoney, Rev. Dr. Andrew Cheah, Rev. Iben Arang and Deaconesss.

Give thanks for the successful leadership retreat to plan for the next five years (2011-2015) for the life, mission and ministry of the Cathedral.

Pray for the Diocesan Synod Organizing Committee under the leadership of Dr Chong Su-Lin as well as for the Diocesan Golden Circle Conference Organizing Committee

Proposal to build another extension as we have outgrown the new extension. The new “newer” extension is to house the relevant ministries.

Continued road closures and noise pollution from Dataran Merdeka which are affecting the congregation. The Council has appealed to the Federal Government for a grant to help us to sound proof the Cathedral.

Parish of St. James Church Kuala Lumpur’s Mother’s Day

celebration on the 4th of May and for the Women’s

Fellowship.

Day 5

Pray Clergy and their families, for good health, safety and protection & blessings; pray for the clergy in your church and ask for God’s blessings upon them.

Growth for the various ministries in the church, for more members to come forward to serve. Pray for your Wardens and Church Council members. Pray for Church leaders. All those involved in ministry in the body of Christ, missionaries and those in secular jobs that have the opportunities to share the gospel.

Praise God that Emmanuel Harvest Center in Penang will be elevated to a Parish Status. Thank God for all her faithful

members who have worked hard and continue to serve the Lord.

Remember and pray for the His Majesty the King of Malaysia as he observes his official birthday on the 5 of Jun.

Day 6

Pray for the Upper North Archdeaconry and for Assistant Bishop/Archdeacon Andrew Phang, Church of the Redeemer, Butterworth and Bukit Mertajam Anglican Center Pray that God will bless him with wisdom as he oversees the work in the Upper North and Eastern regions

Pray for St George’s Church, Acting Vicar, Bp Andrew Phang Pray for a right priest to be appointed the Parish in the near future.

Pray for Rev David Teh and his work in St. Paul’s Church; Deaconess Julih Bah Aew at St. Mark’s Church Perai: Rev. Gerrad Emmanuel at St. Philip’s and St. James Church Sungei Petani and in Arau.

Day 7

Pray for the Outreach Centers Bukit Mertajam Anglican Center-Church of the Redeemer, Butterworth: New Life Center Arau, Perlis: St. John’s Chapel Pengkalan Hulu: Batu Ferrenghi services in Penang.

Diocesan Education Board, for the ongoing consultation with Marlborough College, Johor State Government and our Diocese, that this project will help the Church to nurture her presence in the State of Johore. Pray for the teachers, youth workers and students who lead Christian groups in schools.

Pray for the Diocesan Education Board as they expand their portfolio to help the churches to run the Kindergartens

Pray that Clergy and all full time workers will encourage children in the church to take up Bible Knowledge as an SPM subject and participate in the BK quizzes.

Pray for the Diocesan Women’s Conference at Hotel Emperor Melaka to be held from the 7th -9th of June. Pray for the church to encourage all their ladies to attend this conference.

Day 8

Church of St. Andrew’s Parit Buntar and Holy Trinity Church Nibong Tebal, Canon Charles Fraser. Pray that God will strengthen him in his work and move the church to be more committed in Church services and mission of the Church.

Church of the Resurrection, Kuala Kangsar, for a priest or worker to be appointed to this place.

St. Peter’s Church Ipoh, Acting Chairman, Canon Dr. Teoh Soong Kee Pray that their Orang Asli Work and for funds to be available for this mission work.

Pray that the move to designate All Saints Church and St. Mary’s Cathedral as a heritage site will not hamper the evangelistic and missionary work of the Church.

Pray for the Diocesan Men’s Committee, Rev. Dato. Dr. Yeoh Beng San that more men will come forward, join this committee, and build up the men’s fellowship.

Day 9

Gereja Hallelujah and the Cornerstone Sanctuary Rev Dato Dr. Yeoh Beng San and Deaconess Mary for the Christian witness and many challenges faced in a growing church. Thank God for his special gift in the healing ministry.

Pray for Ray of Hope Centre and the social ministry that reaches out to the non Christians. Pray for the chairperson Deaconess May Yeoh.

Gereja Shalom, Rev. Jack Mongudal Owal, Thank God for the ministry amongst the Orang Asli and the challenges faced by as Rev. Jack has to travel far to pastor the flock.

St. Paul’s Church Slim River, Rev. Raymond Lai Sai Wai, pray for the growth in the kindergarten and the work amongst the migrant workers.

Christ Church Ipoh, Rev.Nick Loi Boon Leong, and for his ministry.

Day 10

St. Chad’s Volunteer Programme, for Melissa Lai and Nicole Pua, Melissa has since returned home and attending St. Paul’s Petaling Jaya. Pray that she will inspire more young people to be involved in the mission of the Church.

Pray for Nicole Pua who is now in Wrockwardine; for easy mobility and good health; for wisdom and insight to impart the right message to the community.

Pray for Rev. Philip Swan the new Director of World Mission for the Diocese of Lichfield and for his partnership mission in our Diocese

Pray for the Diocesan 40th anniversary celebration for the Central region on the 10th of April at Subang Jaya. Pray for a greater sense of unity and oneness in the Diocese.

Day 11

St. Matthew’s Church Selayang, Rev. Jesvinder Singh, pray for Youths & Young Adults Fellowship; Prayer Walk on the 18th of April; Church Worship Seminar on the 2nd of May; Archdeaconry Vigil Prayer on the 21st of May; Church Family Outing on the 28th of May

Church “Gotong Royong” on the 13th of June 2010; Church Vicarage Project: The church needs to raise RM 250.000 to purchase a house as a Vicarage. Currently they have raised RM15, 000.0. At present they are paying RM 600.00 monthly for the rental of a house; for the spiritual growth of every member in their prayer life and the word of God

Pray for Youths Workers to be employed in the Diocese; for more youths to come forward to assist the young people in the churches.

Pray for the Diocesan Worship Conference at St. Peter’s Church Ipoh. From the 11-13 of June

Day 12

The Parish of St. James Kuala Lumpur, Rev. David Alagumalai; Pray for more souls to be added to the church in Karak- My Saviour”s Church and for other outreach centers in Rawang, Jinjang, and Setapak.

Diocesan Golden Circle, Mr. Simson, Thank God for the formation of Regional Golden Circle Councils in the Upper North (Ms Salome Daniel) and Lower Central (Mrs. Annie Cherian); pray for the preparation undertaken to organise the Diocesan Golden Circle AGM/Fellowship 2010 at the Grand Season Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

Pray for religious freedom, peace and stability to prevail in our land; for good governance and economic prosperity, careful and responsible stewardship of natural resources

Day 13

St. Peter’s Church, Kapar, Selangor as they find ways to raise funds to pay off their loan of RM95.000.00. Pray that God will move the hearts of members to assist them.

Pray for the Tamil Board 40th Anniversary Celebration for the Southern Archdeaconry on the 13th of June.

Pray for more workers and chairpersons of various ministries in the regional areas so that the work of each Archdeaconry will be further strengthened

Day 14

Pray for the gathering of CCA delegates at the 13th CCA conference held in Kuala Lumpur from the 14-21 of April. Pray for a fruitful discussion and a meaningful response to growth of the Asian Church; pray for the delegates who will minister to the churches in Klang Valley.

Pray for the urgent need for Bahasa Malaysia bibles to be released by the Malaysian Customs as there is an acute shortage of BM bibles in the churches.

Pray for the Committee members of the Association of the Dioceses of Singapore and West Malaysia; Chairman Bishop Dumper, Secretary Rev Ann Bucknell, Treasurer Rev. Michael Counsell, and for Rev. John Cook; thank God for partnership mission and work of our dioceses.

Day 15

Diocesan Anglican Care, Lydia Wong, for the forthcoming AGM on the 14th and 15th of May at the Archdiocese Pastoral Center in Kuala Lumpur.

Pray for Youths in our parishes and in our nation. Pray for the youth leaders in Church and for the youth fellowship; Pray that God will raise more youth workers in our Diocese.

Day 16

Pray for preachers and those who teach the word of God in our churches; for the spirit of teaching to be upon them;

Pray for world peace; for a borderless world; for all nations to live in peace and that the world will improve economically.

Continue in prayer for Christians in Sudan, Pakistan, Iran, Nigeria, Uzbekistan, and India and other parts of the world who are growing weary & faint because of persecution & discrimination that God will give them hope & strength.

Pray for Churches who are preparing for their AGM or have finished their AGM, that their cooperation and dependency upon one another will be strengthened and that the mission of the Church will not be sacrificed for personal gain and attention.

Day 17

Diocesan Children’s Ministry Deaconess Ruth Ong, for the committee as they plan and make decisions for this year’s events. For all Mothers on Mother’s Day all Father’s on Father’s Day

Pray for our links with Lichfield Diocese, Rt. Rev. Jonathan Glendhill, and for the people and clergy of Newport, St Nicholas; Forton, All Saints; Chetwynd, St Michael and All Angels.

Pray for the Lichfield Diocesan Board of Education is the second largest in the Church of England with 206 Church of England Schools. Of these, 47 are Voluntary Aided; 157 are Voluntary Controlled and two are Foundation Schools.

Day 18

Seminary Theoloji Malaysia Pray for the Dr. Tan Jin Huat, Deaconess Margaret Chen and Dr. Paul Barker; all Anglican students and faithfulness in their calling

Pray that more Anglicans to undertake theological studies especially clergy wives. Pray for all clergy wives who are not working that God will provide all their needs.

Men’s Fellowship, Chairman Rev. Dato Dr. Yeoh Beng San, for the finalization of the guidelines for Men’s Fellowship.

Day 19

Pray for the Lower North Archdeaconry 40th anniversary celebrations in the Church of the Holy Spirit Ipoh on the 19 of June by the Tamil Board

Pray for the Diocesan Education (Anglican Mission Schools) Committee, Mrs. Sushi Packianathan, Malayan Christian Schools Council: Heads of Mission Authorities: Representatives of Mission Authorities: For direction, focus and commitment; Ministry of Education; Minister, Deputy Minister, Director General, State Directors; to exercise ‘consultation’ when vacancies occur.

Boards of Governors; Chairpersons and members; to be committed to the betterment of schools; to work towards creating a ‘Christian presence’ in schools; Heads of Schools; to work closely with Mission Authorities and Boards of Governors; Courage and spiritual fervor; to uphold Christian traditions and ethos.

Day 20

Father’s Day celebration 20th June 2010 Father’s Day and for

the Men’s Fellowship. Pray for St. James Church as they celebrate the Father’s Day.

Pray for the next DISC and Standing Committee meeting to be held on the 20th of May

Pray for the Eastern Archdeaconry, for the Gawai Festival on the 25th of June at Cukai, Family Camp to be held on the 2nd – 4th of July at Sanctuary Hotel, Cherating. Pray for the organizers and travel mercies for all who will be travelling.

Day 21

Pray for the CCM triennial Assembly in Sibu from the 21-24 of June 2010. Pray for all Anglican delegates who will attend this assembly that they will be enriched by the participation of different denominations.

For the Eastern Archdeaconry: St Andrew’s Church, Kuala Terengganu; Archdeacon Charles Samuel, Praise God that two lots have been purchased in Manir in the city to build a Home for the Elderly and a hall for worship: pray for the building committee and for funds to build the home.

Pray for God blessings to be upon the new missionary work in Temerloh, Mentakap and Karak in Pahang. Pray that God will raise more people to come forward to build his church in these areas.

Day 22

St. Martin's Church, Kota Bharu; Rev James Ming & Family, for the planned Church Ministry 2010 reaching out to people in new places.

Pray for St. Martin's Church as they prepare for the AGM, that God will move the hearts of the members to attend and to know their responsibilities as members for this church and to serve in the church ministry.

For the changes of worship service time from Sunday night to Friday morning that members would settled down soon with the time; for growth in membership.

Daughter church Emmanuel Church Kok Lanas Kelantan, for Deaconess Lily Mayar and family, for members to grow and mature in the leadership and spiritually; the plan to buy the house as a place for worship (church).

Pray that we would be able to find a proper and permanent place for worship service in St. John's Center Batu Melintang Jeli Kelantan.

Day 23

Pray for the right property consultant to be appointed for the comprehensive management and operation of the Synod block of apartments at the development to be known as St. Mary’s Residences at Jalan Tengah Kuala Lumpur.

Christ Church Melaka, Assistant Bishop Batumalai, Easter celebrations and baptism; for the World Chinese Clergy Mission Conference in Melaka 21-24 April; Parish AGM 25 April (praying for God centered leaders).

Lower Central Archdeaconry children programme in St Mark’s Church, Seremban- Pray for numbers and weather and organizing committee; Evangelistic meeting 18 June

Day 24

Pray for the Central Women’s Gathering in Kuala Lumpur on the 24th of April.

Pray for Patrick Labon from the Parish of Good Shepherd Subang Jaya and Duwen anak Babat who have offered to be Lay Pastors for the Iban community.

Pray for Ms Tan Swee Bee who has been appointed as an Evangelist at the Bagan Jermal Anglican Church and for her keenness in develop the Bahasa Malaysia work in our Diocese.

Praise God that for the first two Orang Asli men who will be ordained as Local Ordained Ministers in our Diocese. Pray for Lizune a/l Bah Chong and Eduan a/l Bah Chimpok as they prepare themselves for sacred office.

Pray for more Vocation in the Diocese. Pray that capable and God-fearing men and women will respond to serve God

in the ministry especially as priests and deaconesses. Pray for the Ordination Committee that God will grant them discernment and wisdom as they interview those offering themselves for full time ministry. Pray for the Anglican students at the Seminary.

Pray for the servers and acolytes in our churches and thank God for their services. Pray that more young people will come forward to join the server’s guild.

Day 25

Parish of St. James Church AGM on 25th April 2010

Diocese of Kuching, Rt. Rev Bolly Lapok and his family; that God will continue to keep them in good health and him travel mercies.

Pray for the Revd John Sim Kim, his wife, Jane and their sons Mervyn and Jonathan. John works as Secretary of the Diocese of Kuching and Brunei Darusalam, visits the mission in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia (once a month); acts as Facilitator and Lecturer of the National Service at Camp Puncak Bau, Sarawak under the Ministry of Defence on every Thursday and Friday night.

Those training for ministry: the Revds Michael Pei, Widos Pa’uh, Moses Jakir, Rodriguez Unak Charles at the Theological Seminary of Malaysia (STM) in Kuala Lumpur; Richard Chang, Julia Ng, Betty Tan, Mary Wong, Tan Wee Ling and Deborah, training in Sabah; the Revd Donald Jute in Scotland, Ms. Florence Jee in Hong Kong

The Diocese of Singapore, Most Rev. Dr. John Chew, Assistant Bishop Rt. Rev. Rennis Ponniah, Deanery of Thailand-Rev. Yee Ching Wah, for Christ Church Bangkok; Rainbowland Child Development Centre; Rainbow Community Service and other ministries.

Day 27

Pray for the Chinese Board Joint Clergy Retreat with the Singapore Diocese held at Cititel Penang from the 27-30 of April and the Chinese Board AGM on the 1st of May at Bagan Jermal Anglican Church Penang.

Pray for the work of CMS Australia and for deputizing Rev. Dr. Paul Barker to work at STM and in our diocese, Pray for travel mercies as he moves around our diocese and Asia to minister to the needs of the community.

Pray for the Children’s Carnivals in the month of May in 4 Archdeaconries. Pray that the children in our churches will develop a sense of belonging to the Anglican Church.

Day 28

Malaysian Care; for our Anglican members who work in Malaysian Care. Thank God for their dedication in the social Ministry; for pray God will supply all their needs.

Remember and Pray for the work of MCCBCHST as they to bring peace and harmony in our Land. Pray for the Buddhist as they observe their festival on Vesak Day on the 28 of May.

Pray for the Staff in the Diocesan office, Mrs. Kannagi, Mrs. Agnes Christian, Ms Margaret Tan, Mrs. Diana Sim, Mr. John, Mr. Selvam, Mr. Lee Kien Meng, office cleaner and the night guard.

Pray for the Tamil Board AGM on the 29 of May at St. Barnabas Church Klang.

Mission Partnership with the Province of Myanmar, Archbishop Stephen Than Myint Oo’s; for evangelism and mission in each of the dioceses, to nurture the church in the Myanmar way and to establish mission committees in every diocese.

Pray for those who are suffering from the aftermath of the Nagis Cyclone and for the reconstruction of the land, building and people for a better way for living

Pray for Assistant Bishop Philip Aung King Thein, - Mission coordinator, and wife Mary Nanja and children Esther Su Mon Aung and grace May Mee Aung; that God will guide the bishop as he leads the mission in his Province, pray for those who will be visiting our Diocese.

Day 30

Diocese of Sabah Rt. Rev. Albert Vun Cueing Hui his wife Mary; give thanks to the Lord for 13 candidates who offered themselves for Ordination to the Priesthood & Deaconate

Kokol Prayer Retreat Centre Thank God for the Bishop's vision for the prayer retreat centre, that will be used by the churches and the state individually or corporately. It will be opened for all seasons and will cater for big or small groups or families.

Anglican Vision School @Bandar Sri Indah, the vision school promises to push the boundaries of education with innovative system of education that will bring out the best in students by nurturing them to be leaders of character. Pray that God will enable to find all them to find all the resources.
