SCOPEDiet assistants help in discussing dietary needs of pa�ents with mul�disciplinary health care team. They also help in discussing pa�ents' food preferences, planning pa�ent menus and maintaining diet records.

Geriatric care involves planning and coordina�ng care of elderly and others with physical and/or mental impairments to meet their long term care needs, improve their quality of life and maintain their independence.

The Diploma in Diet Assistant and Geriatric Care will provide knowledge and skills on basic therapeu�c diets and nutri�on, sanita�on and safety procedures and benefits of various diets. The Course will also provide experience, knowledge and skills to work with elderly people and their families in managing, rendering and referring various types of health and social care services.

Ÿ To introduce principles of geriatric assessment and community resources for geriatric management.

Ÿ To introduce concepts of geriatric care management ethics and laws

Ÿ To introduce business aspects of Geriatric Care Management
