SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS

CSC50115

DIPLOMA OF CORRECTIONAL ADMINISTRATION

training

RTO Provider No. 41008

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Skills Generation in partnership with DaV’ange Consulting is offering experienced Corrections Professionals at supervisory or

management level the opportunity to gain recognition of prior learning (RPL) for their current experience to gain a nationally

accredited qualification—the CSC50115 Diploma of Correctional Administration. Successful candidates will need to complete

8 units of competency comprising 2 mandatory core and 6 elective units. Elective units have been chosen to meet industry

standard.

CSCORG014 Use information to make critical decisions

CSCORG022 Manage effective workplace relationships

CSCOFM021 Plan and review services to offenders

CSCSAS018 Plan responses to incidents that jeopardise safety and security

CSCSAS019 Determine response to security risks

CHCCS521B Assess and respond to individuals at risk of suicide

BSBWOR501 Manage personal work priorities and professional development

PSPGOV505A Promote diversity

HOW DOES IT WORK?

You will be asked to complete an RPL Application and provide evidence against each of the units. Where there are gaps in your evidence, a professional conversation with your assessor from DaV’ange Consulting may provide additional evidence. Your assessor may also ask you to provide further evidence to substantiate your claim of competency in a particular unit/s.

Where gaps in evidence remain – that is that you cannot be considered competent on the evidence provided, gap training will be made available to you. For gap training, you will be provided with workbooks and given written assessments to complete.

The cost of the program is $4500. $1500 is payable by direct deposit when you submit your application. Three payments of $1000 each follows. A payment plan will be negotiated with you. Successful applicants will only receive certification when program payment is made in full. Please talk to Ange about your particular circumstances. She is there to help and can devise an alternative payment plan for you, if required.

It is anticipated that only highly experienced correctional professionals who have worked at coordinator,

supervisory or management levels who can provide high quality evidence will undertake this RPL

program. For those less experienced officers traditional training and assessment is available as is

Certificate IV level RPL where appropriate evidence is available. Please contact Ange for further details.

WHAT IS MY INVESTMENT?

WHAT SORT OF EVIDENCE CAN BE CONSIDERED?

HOW LONG WILL THE RPL TAKE?

The time to complete depends on the quality of your application including the evidence you provide to support your claim. It is anticipated the process will take two to three months or less for a full RPL and is mostly dependant on you completing the evidence table so that your assessor can review it, have a professional conversation with you and with your referees about you.

WHO ARE MY TRAINERS?

We are proud of the superior quality of our training team lead by David Bradford, a former QUT Lecturer and former Senior Training and Development Officer from the Queensland Corrective Services Academy.
