Manny, Sid, Diego, and Queen Latifah are back in this third film in the computer-animated Ice Age series. With those creatures in starring roles, fans also get another dose of the vocal talents of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Queen Latifah, who all return from the previous two outings.

Set entirely after the nuclear assault that left the computer system Skynet in control of the world, Terminator Salvation follows John Connor (Christian Bale) as he grapples with

both murderous robots and his superiors in the resistance, who aren’t sure they believe the prophecies that Connor is destined to save humanity.

History was made...by these guys? Zed and Oh are cavemen who are banished from their ancient village and stumble out of the mountains into an epic journey of biblical proportions causing them to travel across the world. One’s a bumbling hunter, the other’s a gentle gatherer. Together, they become unlikely participants in history’s most pivotal moments.

An attractive combination, La Bodeguiya unites the right ingredients so that nobody will go away disappointed by

their first visit, or on the second or the third...They really leave a stamp of quality on their tapas, and with good value wines and the extraordinary service offered make people return again and again. La Bodeguiya captures the crowds and many people feel that they have no need to move on to anywhere else.

Maybe it is the quality of their tapas and the gastronomy which they offer their clients and the fact that they let you have as many tapas as you like without interruption or repetition.

The delights of La Bodeguiya guaranteed to clients, help people to feel attended and relaxed as soon as they enter the door and the welcoming staff ask you what you would like to drink as soon as you enter, so there is no waiting around.

You can not compare the Serrano ham, cheese and anchovies from the region, or their combinations or other fresh products from the sea like the white bait in vinegar or muscles, which are of high quality, or their cuts of solomillo, presa and secreto... all of the best quality cuts of meats that you can eat.

Driving tips from Don Neumáticos Nº 28

Speed humps

If you find you are approaching a speed hump a little too fast, applying the brakes to reduce your speed means the front / nose of the vehicle drops down, which reduces the ground clearance of the car. The tip is, just before the speed hump, release the brakes which bring the front / nose of the car back up to its normal ride height. The benefit is two fold, giving more ground clearance to clear the hump and the car’s suspension is not compressed so is able to ride the speed hump.

Cleaning Service

Diamond maids

For a time we have been offering a service that gives working women more free time by releasing them from the chores of cleaning and ironing. Ever heard the phrase ‘you’re a diamond’? We can be your diamond, now setting up a new office to cover the areas from Sabinillas to Alcaidesa including Sotogrande. We are so confident of our service that we offer a satisfaction guarantee.

The cleaning service is offered at a ONE standard fixed price, (commercial, renting, exchange hand over’s and estate agencies welcome).

Ironing service offers 3 day turn round. Fully insured. Prices by per garment or by the load Kg (commercial)Collations / Delivery routes are as follows:Monday / Thursday - SabinillasTuesday / Friday - AlcaidesaWednesday / Monday - SotograndeThursday / Tuesday - Duquesa

The “X” FactorWhy is it that some restaurants are always

busy, whereas the adjoining restaurant is bereft of customers,

That’s the “X” factor.

Don Neumáticos is in its 9th year so we must be doing something right. Fair prices in these pressing times are important but our main difference is, when we say Tuesday we mean the day after Monday, therefore saving the customer any problems about getting their car back on the road as quickly as possible.

As agents for all the major tyre manufacturers we draw from their stock, which gives us unique access to thousands of tyres on the next day delivery service. Tyres ordered before 13.00 should be delivered am the following day.

Our 4 x 3 offer has been so successful that we now offer the same net price on one, two or three tyres which means a discount of 25% on all leading brands.

PLASTIC IS FANTASTICDFAS de la Frontera is back with an exciting programme of lectures. Join us on the 20th October 2009 at 11.00am for a fascinating exploration of plastic, used in art and design from ancient times through to contemporary installation art and sculpture in the present day.

Lecturer Colin Williamson is a regular and enthusiastic contributor to television and radio programmes with his own unique private collection of plastics memorabilia.

Designers are now recognising the fact that plastic has distinctive properties not found in other materials and it is beginning to be respected as ‘the real thing’ rather than a cheap, mass-produced imitation.

200 YEARS OF PLASTICS IN ART & DESIGN - FROM VICTORIANA TO LALIQUE AND LYCRA is a highly popular lecture and the only one in Mr Williamson’s NADFAS repertoire. Members and visitors are invited to welcome the start of our new season with drinks and tapas after the lecture.

This is our fourth season and we have a comprehensive programme of stimulating and enjoyable activities and events taking us through to May 2010.

We look forward to welcoming new visitors on the third Tuesday of the month at the San Roque Golf and Country Club, Km. 127 (A7).

Entry at the door is €12 and €10 for members of other DFAS societies,

with free entry for members. Seasonal membership is €65 and

more information can be obtained by calling (00 34) 952 804 692 or

What is Pilates ?Imagine your torso as a tree trunk, and your arms and legs as the branches. When a tree is weak in the trunk the branches tend to take the strain and even break when the tree sways. That’s why keeping your torso, (your tree trunk), strong is essential to good quality of movement. All movement originates in the centre of your body, your Powerhouse. Every time you stand up, sit down, turn, twist or roll you engage your torso, abs, lower back, hips, inner thighs and gluts. Intrinsic to every move you make, it is Pilates concentration on your Powerhouse that makes it so unique and effective. Every Pilates exercise strengthens and uses your Powerhouse, for control and balance. If you’re not using your Powerhouse, its not Pilates!

The perfect turkey full of flavour, beautifully moist and traditionally reared. It received top scores across the board, and the

judges felt it represented the very best of British speciality produce. The KellyBronze® turkey is the ultimate experience in Christmas dining.

Bred and raised by using traditional farming methods, KellyBronze® turkeys are free to roam in pastures, stubble fields and woodland. At night they have the shelter of open-sided pole barns, with deep straw and plenty of fresh air. The birds are grown to maturity over several months and fed on locally grown cereals and vegetable protein – without additives, drugs or growth promoters.

The result is turkey with ‘good old-fashioned’ flavour – beautifully moist and a densely textured meat. It’s a real treat to eat.

KellyBronze® Turkeys for a Feast of Real Flavour Available this Christmas from The English Butcher

As far as we know we are the only turkey farmers in the world to have complete control right from our own pure breeding stock to your Christmas table.

Sendero: TorredeBotafuegos

Along the old road 2312 direction Los Barrios – Algeciras, about 2Km from the big bridge you will find an information panel which tells you

about the area you will discover along this amazing route.

The area is made up of farms and stately homes, a well looked after forest, and characteristic footpaths. To reach the “Torre de Botafuegos” you need to climb the mountainside by the tower next to the Prior stream and near the Prior gorge. The old watchtower is in Khalifal style. In the XIV century this mountain was dominated by Montecillo del Prior, who had an affiliation with the Prior Order of Saint John of Jerusalem.

The Almoguera farm and the Larios family stately home are very old buildings from the nineteenth century with strong signs of their origins, and they have become a well-known touristic point. Well-known because of the small and calm reservoir which is surrounded by footpaths and two hills heavily populated with trees, that are nourished from the waters of the Prior gorge, created from the valleys of Hoyo Don Pedro.

On the edge of the mountainside you will find a beautiful and ancient oak forest that surrounds the area where the Tower is situated. This impressive building has been maintained as it is the only Arabic watchtower within the region and it dominates this huge territory. From the tower you can see the Mediterranean waters in the bay right around to the highest points in the Alcornocales mountain range.

64

Castellar de la Frontera in the XIX Century

The chronological moment that marks the passage of the Modern Age to the Contemporary Age in Castellar de la Frontera was about 1810,

when “Cortes de Cádiz” started to make agreements to abolish the jurisdictional lordships. From this date, some important social changes were carried out. Some of the population started noticing these improvements and got the benefit from them, but there were others that remained poor, both intellectually and physically.

In 1810, a law was created that forced the town hall to divide land between the inhabitants of the village. In 1811, the French troops arrived at Castellar and stopped at the Convent. They sacked this religious place and burnt many works of art. The image of Santo Cristo de la Almoraima was moved to the church of the village. Although French troops tried hard to occupy the fortress, they didn’t succeed. After the Independence War, people from Castellar were very poor.

They didn’t have any jobs and they could not find the resources to get money. The only way to feed the family was to resort to illegal tasks, and this is how banditry and smuggling were born. This village was a perfect place to carry out these activities due to it’s geographical situation. In the 1860’s

decade there were lots of people who gained their livelihood by smuggling products, especially from Gibraltar, and attacking other people in the paths that communicated between different villages of the mountains.

In 1833, Isabel II was proclaimed Queen of Spain. Castellar de la Frontera celebrated this event by declaring three days of public holidays. This village kept very loyal to the queen.

In 1854, there was a huge cholera epidemic in Andalucía, but inhabitants of the fortress stayed free of the illness on this occasion.

At the end of XIX century, Castellar experienced a considerable increase of the population. In 1868, the village had 1,385 inhabitants; whereas at the beginning of the same century the population didn’t reach 200 inhabitants. Public improvements were carried out, such as the reparation of some interior streets and roads.
