CMD Deadline ApproachingThe presence of a CertifiedMedical Director (CMD) in nursing homes results in a 15% improvementin quality scores compared to those without CMDs. The American Medical Directors CertificationProgram (AMDCP) is the only program to accredit Certified Medical Directors in long term care,and has accredited more than 3,000 medical directors since its inception in 1991. All events provide CME/CMD credits, thechance to network with peers, and interactive education provided by top experts in long termcare. � AMDA Core Curriculum on Medical Direction in Long Term CareOffered July 27 – August 2, in Baltimore, MD, and November 2 – 8, in Orlando FL, the Core Curric-ulum guides participants through 22 critical areas of long term care management. The course canbe taken alone or in conjunction with the AMDCP program, and provides those not associatedwith the program ample continuing education credit and networking opportunities.
� AMDA Advanced Curriculum on Medical Direction in Long Term CareThis year’s Advanced Course will be held October 4-6 in Atlanta, GA. This course is specificallygeared to the needs of physicians who provide management and clinical care services in thelong term care environment.
� Navigating Mood and Behavior Challenges in Long Term Care: Strategies for OptimalOutcomesThis new one-day course will be held September 21 in New Orleans, LA. The course will pursue anevidence-based approach to non-drug interventions. Physicians need to know when, how andwhy to use a wide complement of diagnostic tools and interventions for better patient care.
