THE COMMUNITY/COUNTY MARIPOSA COUNTY IS A DESIRABLE PLACE to live, work and play! Located in the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, Mariposa is the home of Yosemite National Park, Lake McClure Recreation Area, the California State Mining and Mineral Museum and the longest continually operating courthouse west of the Rockies. As one of only three counties with no incorporated cities, Mariposa towns, most of which date back to the California gold rush, retain their small-town charm and old west feel. Mariposa County offers a variety of stunning landscapes, moderate climate, and is a popular year-round vacation destination. Yosemite National Park has awe-inspiring vistas, granite icons, and breathtaking waterfalls. You’ll never hear anyone visiting Mariposa County say, “there’s nothing to do today.” Fishing, biking, hiking, camping, gold panning, arts and culture, spas, breweries, golfing, rafting, shopping, festivals, and museums are just some of the options for entertainment in the community.

Our community is poised for building with future plans for new housing and development and economic growth is underway. Our County is quiet, rural, resourceful, includes good schools, and is a great place to raise a family.
