Bill Cartun is in his 10th year with the University of Colorado men’s basketball staff and his eighth as the Director of Basketball Operations.

Cartun is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the basketball program, overseeing the budget, and coordinating team travel and video. He also serves as the camp director of the CU basketball summer camps, which continues to grow with record numbers each and every summer.

In addition to his operation duties, Cartun is also the team’s video coordinator, supervising all aspects of the team’s film and video needs, including opponent scouting, coordinating film exchange, managing the video room and supplying the coaching staff with game film.

“Bill is very dependable and continues to branch out in his roles on our staff with the operations and team travel, along with his video coordination ability,” said CU head coach Tad Boyle. “Bill’s the best video guy I have ever been around in the business; very dependable and handles a lot of details in our office. He continues to develop and grow as a coach.”

Prior to coming to the Boulder campus, Cartun spent three years (2007-10) with the Charlotte Bobcats of the NBA as the basketball operations assistant and assistant video coordinator. With the Bobcats, he prepared video scouting edits for the coaches and players, scouted collegiate talent, and assisted in NBA draft preparation.

He is a 2005 graduate of Bates College where he received his bachelor’s degree in economics. Cartun earned a master’s degree in sport management from the

University of Connecticut in 2007. While at UConn he worked with the men’s basketball team as a student assistant.

Cartun is a 2000 graduate of Avon High School in Avon, Conn., where he was a two-time all-State basketball selection. After high school he did a post graduate year at Cheshire Academy in Cheshire, Conn.

Cartun, his wife Ashley and their daughters Julianna and Finley, reside in Superior.

Basketball Support StaffTroy Andre Associate Sports Information Director

Troy Andre is in his 17th year with the Colorado Sports Information Office, joining the Buffalo staff in July 2003 from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Along with duties of internet managing editor, he was promoted from assistant director to associate director on Dec. 1, 2016.

His primary responsibilities are handling the SID duties for men’s basketball, assisting in the computer statistical needs for CU’s other sports, and serving as the webmaster for CUBuffs.com, the school’s Internet website. Andre is an active member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) where he has served on the prestigious Academic All-America committee since 2003.

Andre worked for five years at Minnesota-Duluth both as the assistant sports information director and ticket manager, helping to publicize and promote 14 NCAA Division II sports and two NCAA Division I programs. He was UMD’s primary contact for volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball; maintained UMD’s official website; supervised the office work-study students; and in 2003, coordinated the marketing, promotion and ticket sales for the 2003 Women’s Frozen Four.

He graduated in 1996 from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication with an emphasis in public relations and advertising. He attended graduate school at North Dakota State University, majoring in mass communication, and worked for two years as a graduate assistant in NDSU’s sports information office between 1996 and 1998.

He is married to the former Danielle Driscoll, originally of East Grand Forks, Minn.

Rawley KlingsmithAssociate Athletic Trainer

Rawley Klingsmith is in his seventh year with the University of Colorado sports medicine staff as the athletic trainer for men’s basketball and the spirit squad.

Prior to coming to Boulder, Klingsmith was an integral part of the University of Northern Colorado sports medicine staff since 2004. In January 2012, he was promoted to Assistant

Athletic Director for Human Performance - Head Athletic Trainer.

During the summer of 2015 (July), Klingsmith was the athletic trainer for the 2015 United States Pan American men’s basketball team in Toronto (bronze medal).

”Klingsmith graduated from UNC in May of 2000 with a bachelor of arts degree in kinesiology/athletic training. As an undergraduate, Klingsmith was a student athletic trainer and assisted with football, baseball, wrestling, soccer, volleyball and swimming.

Following graduation, he was a graduate assistant at the University of Oregon. For the Ducks, he assisted with the athletic training needs for the football and

wrestling programs and graduated with his master of science in sports medicine in April 2002.

Klingsmith is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Trainers Association.

Klingsmith, a native of Karval, Colo., graduated high school from a class of seven in 1995. He also lettered in baseball. He is married to the former Corri Lain.

Stephen Englehart Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports

Stephen Englehart is in his fourth season as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for men’s basketball and ninth overall at Colorado. His duties expanded to the Director of Strength & Conditioning for Olympic Sports in July 2018.

Prior to his duties with men’s basketball, which started in April 2016, he worked with the

Buffaloes’ football, women’s soccer, women’s golf, men’s golf and tennis programs.

He is certifi ed as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He also holds certifi cations with USAW, FMS and TPI Level 1&2.

Englehart came to CU from Southern Methodist University, where he worked one year (2010) as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Mustangs. That followed one season (2009) as the head football strength coach at Portland State University, his fi rst full-time year in the profession. He got his start in the business as a graduate assistant at the University of Hawai’i, where he spent three years (2006-08). At Hawaii he was in charge of men’s and women’s basketball as well as other sports. He was on the Warrior staff the year the UH earned a Sugar Bowl invitation against Georgia as a “BCS” buster following a 12-0 regular season in 2007.

While at Hawai’i, he earned his Master’s in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science in the spring of 2009. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2005.

He was born June 5, 1981 in New Orleans, and graduated from Fountainbleau High School (Mandeville, La.), where he lettered in basketball. His twin brother, Chad, is the head strength coach for the Washington Redskins. He is married to the former Laura Williams (a registered nurse at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Longmont); the couple has three children, Braylon (11), Coralee (6) and Magnolia (3).

Mindy Sclaro Assistant Director/Academics

Mindy Sclaro is in her 15th year as an Associate Director of Academics at the University of Colorado in 2019-20, serving as Academic Coordinator for the Herbst Academic Center.

Sclaro earned her Individual Certifi cation from the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics. Sclaro prepared the N4A Academic and Life Skills Program Certifi cation

She has also participated in a number of other programs including Bystander Intervention Training (2010, 2014); National Survey of Student Engagement Committee (2009); Learning Specialist Search Committee Chair (2008, 2012); Safe Zone Ally Training (2008); and the NCAA Certifi cation Academic Integrity Committee (2007).

She is a graduate of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) Professional Development Institute’s Leader/Manager Track.

Sclaro earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Ithaca College in 1987 with a focus on therapeutic intervention. While at Ithaca, she was a member of the lacrosse team. Sclaro earned her master’s degree in sport management from Northern Colorado in 2001. She has also earned a graduate certifi cate in Comparative Ethnic Studies at CU in 2015.

Prior to CU, she was the athletic director and varsity girls’ soccer coach at the Alexander Dawson School in Lafayette, Colo. (1998-2005) and served as a life skills instructor, student advisor, and was the assistant athletic director from 1996-98. She was named the Mile High League Coach of the Year in 1998 and 2000, and was president of the league from 2003-05.

The former Mindy Cohen is married to Sam Sclaro. She enjoys watching soccer and hitting the trails with her dogs Ruby and Stella.

Marge Marcy Assistant to the Head Coach

Marge Marcy is in her 11th year in the University of Colorado Athletic Department and 10th as the assistant to head coach Tad Boyle.

Marcy works closely with the CU coaches, assisting them with their schedules, travel and recruiting responsibilities. She coordinates administrative duties involving the basketball staff and the student-athletes. Marcy is also

Co-Director for the CU Boys Basketball Camps handling administration and registration.

With an experienced resume working as an executive assistant, Marcy previously worked for Intrawest (Golden), Vail Resorts, and Mobile Tool International (Westminster).

Born in Chicago, Ill., Marcy graduated from Maine East High School (Park Ridge, Ill.) and attended San Jose (Calif.) Community College.

She is married to Keith Marcy and the couple has two sons, Rob and Shaun, and two grandchildren.

She is an avid sailor and boater, and enjoys traveling on extended sailing vacations.

Nick Sprouse Director of Olympic Sports/Equipment Operations

Nick Sprouse rejoined the Colorado equipment staff in August of 2016. He oversees the equipment needs of the volleyball, lacrosse and men’s and women’s basketball programs.

Sprouse previously served on the CU equipment staff from 2005-11 and during that time he worked with all of CU’s intercollegiate sport programs.

After he left Colorado in 2011, Sprouse joined the sales and reconditioning team at Denver Athletic Supply before moving back into the equipment field as an assistant at Colorado State. He originally came to Colorado in 2005 from the University of Arizona where he was an equipment intern for three years.

Sprouse graduated from Philip Barbour High School (West Virgina) in 1997 and earned his bachelor’s in recreation administration in 2002 at Ashland University where he served as a student equipment manager. He is married to the former Linda Poncin and the couple has a daughter, Lily.

Mark Johnson Director of Audio Broadcasting

Mark Johnson is in his 16th year as the play-by-play voice for Colorado basketball. After a 13-year run as the sports director at KOA, Johnson is in his third year as a full-time employee of the Colorado Athletic Department as the director of audio broadcasting. He continues call play-by-play for the football and men’s basketball teams while also serving as

the lead voice on the Buf faloes’ multi-media and digital platforms. Prior to joining Newsradio 850 KOA in 2004, Johnson previously spent two years as the “Voice of the Orange” for the Syracuse University football and men’s basketball programs. He called the national championship basketball season for the Orange during the 2002-03 season. Before his time in Syracuse, Johnson was the play-by-play announcer for four years at Illinois State University and earned three Silver Dome Awards for best play-by-play broadcast in the state of Illinois. He also worked for two years as an announcer for the University of North Dakota. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from North Dakota in 1992. He and his wife, Susan, have two sons, Jacob; Nicolas, a 2014 under- and MBA graduate from CSU-Pueblo; and a daughter, Halle, a 2014 CU graduate.

Scott Wilke KOA Radio Analyst

Scott Wilke enters his seventh year as the analyst for CU Basketball. Wilke left his mark on the CU record book from 1984-88 averaging 12.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Entering the 2016-17 season, Wilke continues to rank in a number of categories, including No. 9 in fi eld goal percentage (.536), No. 14 in scoring (1,366) and No. 24 in rebounding

(576). After college, Wilke played professional basketball for 12 years in Europe, including fi ve years in England, and three years in Luxembourg. He also played in Australia, Japan, Austria, and Finland. Wilke is in his 15th year at Horizon High School in Thornton, where he teaches business and marketing courses. He’s also an advisor for DECA and FBLA (co-curricular clubs). Wilke graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from CU in 1988 and earned a master’s degree in business administration through Bellevue University (Nebraska) in 2006. Wilke and his wife, Susan, have two sons, Alex, a May 2014 CU graduate; Jax and a daughter, Phoenix.
