• D.C. - if recent COVID-19 trend continues, DC will enter Phase 2 this upcoming Monday • MD - has now conducted 535,444 COVID19 tests; the statewide positivity rate has dropped to 5.43%

National • United States - six states report record-high jumps in new coronavirus cases • Arizona, Florida, and Texas - saw their highest single-day increases in new cases • Florida - new projections say Florida has "all the markings of the next large epicenter.” • New York - has lowest U.S. coronavirus infection rate, after having the highest rate • Ohio - started reopening six weeks ago, but hasn't seen a coronavirus case surge

Government Agencies • Department of Labor – another 1.5 million applied for unemployment benefits last week

White House

• WH Coronavirus Task Force – Dr. Fauci says that getting US Coronavirus vaccine candidate into Phase I trial is the "quickest that has ever been done"

• VPOTUS– recently wrote, “There isn't a coronavirus 'second wave’ ”attempting to relieve panic and cited that the national daily average coronavirus case rate has dropped to 20K from over 30K in April while deaths have dropped to less than 750 per day from a high of 2,500 per day a few weeks ago.

International

• U.S., Canada, and Mexico - agree to keep borders closed until July 21 • Bolivia - interim President Jeanine Áñez proposed to again delay the country’s general election, citing

an expected peak in the number of coronavirus cases • Germany - reports 650 new coronavirus cases in a meat processing plant • Europe - European study links genes, blood type with risk of severe coronavirus infection
