Since graduating from St. Hugh in 1968 I have lived life. I've been married since 1979 to the same person. We have 2 children and they have children of their own. We moved to Maryland in 1987 and my husband, Walt, will be retiring the end of this year. We'll be getting our house ready to sell so we can move to our final home (which we haven't made a decision on where). I totally enjoy the time spent with my children and especially my grands! They melt my heart.

Some of my most memorable moments at St Hugh were

the smell of Cross Brothers - can anyone forget that? I don't think so. Father Kelly - need I say more? hearing the hand bell to get in line & everyone running around to find their line walking home for lunch my hair being pulled and the boys knuckles being 'whacked' with a ruler the nuns clicking the clickers to stand, kneel, sit etc <click> group confessionals and hoping to get the 'easy' priest and NOT Father Kelly reading the "condemned" movies list and hoping to get to see them! shame shame having the same nun for 6th & 7th grade (Sister Mary Catherine) and was told that she actually

picked me to be in her 7th grade

with the majority of the class being boys (I believe there were only 13 girls in that class and she chose us)

in 7th grade, having lunch in school because there were safety meetings and my most memorable, was being dared to find out if the eyes of the St Joseph statue on the

2nd floor were real! The rumor was that his eyes were real and could watch us wherever you were, and me actually climbing up to

poke the statue's eyes to see if they were real or not - they weren't <smile> that was so not me, I still can't believe I did that!!!!

We enjoy travelling when we can and love spending time with the kids or being spectators at their many activities. Attending concerts and shows is another one of our favorite past times. I’ve been involved in the Ancient Order of Hibernians (webmaster) for nearly 20 years and for almost 20 years I was a youth soccer coach for various organizations in the area. Reading, music history, genealogy and golf are my favorite hobbies. Currently pursuing MA in History for my next career. Some of my most memorable moments at St Hugh were ………………….. Sr. St. David’s generosity, dozing off, and sambo and not letting girls in her room St. Dolores Marie making me write my synonyms 25 times Playing kill the man with the ball at recess vs. 8th graders Being scared to death to get Fr. I’m currently working for Sunoco (going on 35 years) where I met my husband who is a retired Systems Project Manager. Since we do not have any children, we’ve kept ourselves busy rehabilitating homeless and dysfunctional cats so they can become productive members of society. We have been mostly successful with our current four, one is on tour with the Grateful Dead, one is a senior editor of “Cat Fancy” magazine, and another is starring in an off, off, Broadway production of ‘CATS’. Unfortunately, our youngest is continually in and out of rehab fighting a dependency problem with catnip, we only hear from him when he needs money. My most memorable moment at St Hugh was: Well, its hard choosing from my top three memories: Sr. Stella Margaret telling my father I have no self-control; running home when the line ended at Front and Tioga Streets so a fellow classmate who was twice my size didn’t beat the crap out of me, or during the few times I was actually paying attention to the nuns, trying to ignore those poor cows screaming for their lives over at Cross Brothers. Putting these traumatic events aside, an accomplishment I’m currently most proud of - I have yet to send a text message. I have an agreement with my husband that if he catches me Twittering, he is entitled to an uncontested divorce including all our assets. All kidding aside, I’m really most proud and grateful for my family, friends, and especially my husband, Roger. We will be married 30 years next year - thanks Rog for putting up with me.
