The Sparrow Clinton Hospital CardiopulmonaryServices Department provides appropriate and timely diagnostic testing and interventional services. Our cardiology and respiratory therapy diagnostic procedures include:

The Thoracic and Cardiovascular Institute (TCI) has provided excellence in cardiac care to the mid-Michigan region for more than 40 years.

TCI and Sparrow have worked together over the years to provide that same quality of care to the people of Clinton County through Sparrow Clinton Hospital. Advancements in echocardiography, stress testing, electrophysiology and vascular imaging are now conveniently provided at your local hospital.

In addition, TCI physicians are available six days a week on the Sparrow Clinton Hospital campus and 24/7 for inpatient consultations to support local referring physicians as well as emergency services physicians. TCI is committed to providing clinical cardiac care to Sparrow Clinton Hospital patients with continuity and a high level of quality.

Snoring is the first indication of a more dangerous disorder called Sleep Apnea. This is a breathing disorder characterized by stoppages of breathing during sleep usually accompanied by loud, habitual snoring. Sleep Apnea also may be associated with such life threatening illnesses as high blood pressure, heart attack or stroke.

Sparrow Clinton Hospital Sleep Center technicians evaluate, diagnose and initiate treatment for various sleep-related complaints. Sleep testing is scheduled during your regular sleep hours (night or day) in a comfortable environment. Outpatient Infusion Center:Offering premium services locally

For patients in need of medication infusions or injections, including:

Supplemental services also support each patient’s clinical regime, creating an optimal healthcare experience. Every patient’s progress is assessed and evaluated throughout treatment and patients are provided with educational and instructional materials. Under the guidance of a physician, caregivers collaborate with each patient’s primary physician to promote the best treatment outcomes. And all treatment and utilization reports, progress notes, nursing assessments and discharge summaries are thoroughly documented.

Cancer specialist Vesna Kaluza, MD, joined the medical staff at Sparrow Clinton Hospital in 2007. The Sparrow Clinton Hospital Cancer Clinic is held each week with appointments by physician referral.

Hospitalist ServicesSparrow Clinton Hospital provides physician care for inpatients. The service is staffed in collaboration with local on-call board-certified internal medicine physicians. Patients can be referred to Hospitalist services for inpatient care, and then be transferred back to the care of their choice.

Cancer Care

Sparrow Clinton Hospital’s physician practice, formerly St. Johns Professional Associates, now SMG - St. Johns, provides primary care to the community and coordinates access to specialty services through consultant staff. The practice, located in the Medical Building attached to Sparrow Clinton Hospital at 901 South Oakland, serves patients of all ages – infants to geriatrics. Primary care physician services include Family Practice, Pediatrics & Internal Medicine.

Our expert staff reviews each patient’s need for hospital or community healthcare resources through triage, assessment, diagnostic and therapy interventions and discharge education.

SCH Emergency Department Physicians are board-certified in Emergency Medicine and have Advanced Life Support Training and Trauma course certification. Our Emergency Department Nurses are required to have Basic Cardiac Life Support and Cardiac Arrhythmia training.
