Foreword The League of Women Voters was established in 1920 as a nonpartisan political organization, which is now open to both men and women ages 16 and older. Its purpose is to promote political responsibility through the informed and active participation of citizens in government. The League does not support or oppose candidates for office or political parties. After sustained study, the League acts in support of or in opposition to selected governmental legislation or policies. The League of Women Voters is a nonprofit, volunteer organization supported by annual dues and contributions by its members and by contributions from those outside the organization who respect its aims and accomplishments. The League of Women Voters of Anderson, Oconee, and Pickens Counties was established in 1968 as the League of Women Voters of the Clemson Area. We publish this Directory as a public service to make it easier for citizens of the area to be in contact with their government officials. We would like to express our thanks to the many public officials and League members who gave of their time and effort to bring together the information published in this directory.
